Just added this so that we'd know why there's an Amber Alert for this child when she's with her parents. Don't mean to step on any toes, just wondered myself why anybody would be looking.
Man sought in double murder case
The 33-year-old suspect is charged with killing his mother and her live-in partner near Bandon
BANDON — A hunt is on for a man suspected of killing his mother and her partner inside a home east of Bandon.
Coos County authorities say the suspect,
Gabriel Christian Morris, 33, is carrying two handguns and should be
considered armed and dangerous.
The murder victims, identified Thursday,
are 62-year-old Robin Lynn Anstey, who is Morris’ biological mother,
and Robert William Kennedy Jr., 48, identified by officials as Anstey’s
“live-in significant other.”
Coos County District Attorney Paul Frasier
said he filed legal papers charging Morris with two counts of
aggravated murder. A warrant was issued for Morris’ arrest with
security set at $5 million.
Morris, his wife and their 4-year-old
daughter were last seen Monday night in Coquille, traveling in a silver
Ford Taurus bearing an Oregon license plate of YRK 052.
An investigation that led police to
identify Morris as a suspect began Wednesday when a sheriff’s deputy
found the victims’ bodies inside a house at 90984 Highway 42 South. The
deputy went to the home to find out why a truck registered to one of
the residents had been abandoned in Coquille, Frasier said.
While it’s clear both victims died of
“homicidal violence,” Frasier said he will not release the cause of
death until after autopsies are completed on Saturday.
Morris and his family moved to the Bandon
area about two months ago from Idaho. The family has ties to Idaho,
Utah, Portland, Seattle and San Diego, Frasier said. Officials don’t
know whether the family is still in the local area or fled the state,
he said.
Authorities ask anyone who sees Morris,
his family or their car to immediately call 911 — and to not approach
them. Morris’s wife, Jessica, is being sought as a material witness to
the killings, Frasier said.

Thanks. I wasn't sure if I was allowed to post that here, so I didn't. The Amber Alert does mention the parents are wanted.
I also wonder if Jessica is with her husband willingly.

A crew from the television show "America's Most Wanted" paid a visit to
Coos County Tuesday to film a segment about a double homicide that
occurred in Bandon last week, according to Paul Frasier, Coos County
District Attorney.
The case unfolded on Feb. 10 when police
responded to a report of an abandoned pick up in Coquille. The search
for the owner of the truck led police to a home in Bandon where they
found the bodies of Robin Lynn Anstey, 62, and her partner, Robert
Kennelly, Jr., 48.
Police immediately began looking for
Anstey's son, Gabriel Morris, 34, who is believed to be traveling with
his wife, Jessica Morris and child, Kalea, 4.
If Morris isn't found before Saturday, the Fox network show plans to air the segment Saturday evening, Frasier said.
The
couple were last seen on the night of Feb. 10 in Mesa, Ariz., and have
been traveling in a silver Ford Taurus with an Oregon license plates
YRK052.
Police say Gabriel Morris is armed with two handguns and considered extremely dangerous.

Re: KALEA MORRIS - 4 yo - Bandon OR
Authorities are combing the country for an Oregon double-murder suspect with Utah ties.
Gabriel Morris, 33, is accused of the shooting deaths of his
mother, Robin Lynn Anstey, 62, and her boyfriend, Robert William
Kennelly Jr., 48, at Kennelly's house near Bandon, on the Oregon coast.
The Morrises also were living there. They likely were killed Feb. 8.
Morris has been charged with two counts of aggravated murder, and
is believed to be on the run with his wife, Jessica, and their
4-year-old daughter, Kalea, in a silver Ford Taurus.
Morris attended Brigham Young University and was a member of the
ROTC there, said U.S. Marshals supervisory deputy Michael Wingert.
"We don't have any hard and fast ties such as family members" in
Utah, Wingert said, but it is possible that Morris and his family could
come to the state. "We're hoping he gets caught in a hurry."
He also once worked as a sheriff's deputy in eastern Idaho. Morris
was a Bingham County patrol deputy from 2005 until 2007, Sheriff Dave
Johnson told reporters.
Gabriel Morris reportedly was seen Wednesday evening at a business
in Mesa, Ariz., after police had tracked him to San Diego, said
Oregon's Coos County District Attorney R. Paul Frasier. He was moving
east, and could have been headed to Louisiana or Florida, where he has
family.
Anyone who spots Morris or his family is being asked to call police.

Re: KALEA MORRIS - 4 yo - Bandon OR
An Oregon man wanted in the
slaying of his mother and her boyfriend was arrested Monday in Virginia
after police got a tip from an acquaintance who read about the killings
on the Internet.
Gabriel Morris, his wife, Jessica Morris, and their 4-year-old daughter, Kalea,
were taken into custody in Dumfries, Va., according to the U.S.
Marshals Service. He is wanted in the Feb. 8 shooting deaths of
Robin Anstey, 62, and Robert Kennelly Jr., 48, near the Oregon coastal
town of Bandon. Two counts of aggravated murder have been filed against
Gabriel Morris, while his wife has been sought as a material witness.
Coos County investigators were on their way to Virginia Monday afternoon to
continue an investigation that has revealed a suspect who apparently
used friends and strangers to elude capture.Gabriel
Morris and his family arrived in Virginia sometime last week, after
being tracked to San Diego and spotted on a surveillance camera in
Mesa, Ariz., investigators said. The family was staying at the home of
an acquaintance they had met online, said Coos County District Attorney
R. Paul Frasier.Gabriel Morris and his family were last seen in
Coos County on Feb. 8, when he appeared on the doorstep of a Coquille
schoolteacher seeking .40 caliber ammunition and a ride to San Diego,
according to The World newspaper of Coos Bay. The teacher, Fred
Eschler, was the father of Gabriel Morris' former girlfriend.Gabriel
Morris said terrorists had killed his mother and her boyfriend, and
that he shot and killed one of the terrorists and needed to leave town,
according to court documents.Eschler told police he gave Gabriel Morris
a 9 mm semiautomatic handgun with three loaded magazines and his car,
a Ford Taurus. At the time, no one knew Anstey and Kennelly had been killed.
Their bodies were discovered Feb. 10.
Investigators believed Gabriel Morris could have been be headed to Louisiana or
Florida, where he had family. The television show "America's Most
Wanted" spotlighted the case Saturday night. The National Center for
Missing and Endangered Children also had begun distributing a poster
with information about 4-year-old Kalea. The Morris' flight ended
in the town of Dumfries, Va. One of the adults at the home where the
family was staying grew suspicious of Gabriel Morris and did an
Internet search of his name Monday morning. The search popped up
reports of the slayings, as well as a fugitive notice on the "America's
Most Wanted" Web page. The person, who was not identified, then contacted police.Prince
William County officers, including a SWAT team, surrounded the house.
Gabriel Morris was arrested as he drove away from the place. He was
carrying a loaded .45 caliber handgun but offered no resistance, police
said."He didn't run, he cooperated," said 1st Sgt. Kim Chinn, spokeswoman
for the Prince William County Police.Jessica Morris and her daughter were
stopped in a separate vehicle and taken into custody. The Ford Taurus was found at the house.
While detectives interviewed Gabriel and Jessica Morris, Kalea was "being
entertained by police officers, eating snacks, being cute as a button,"
Chinn said.Officials expected to place the girl with family members. The
Morrises were facing bankruptcy when they moved to Coos County several
months ago from Blackfoot, Idaho. Gabriel Morris had served as a
Bingham County Sheriff's patrol deputy from 2005 to 2007, then worked
at a gym and as an insurance broker.Frasier said Gabriel and
Jessica Morris will be held in Virginia until they can be returned to
Oregon within the next couple of weeks or months, depending on whether
they fight extradition."Everyone here is relieved that we've got them in custody,"
Frasier said. "And the biggest thing is nobody got hurt."
