"Baby John" FIELDS - 2 months - Omaha NE

An Omaha woman has been
arrested on suspicion of child abuse after her infant son was found
with more than a dozen rib fractures.
Police identified the woman as 20-year-old Christina Fields of Omaha.


Police
say a doctor found a lump on one of the boy's ribs during his 2-month
checkup. An x-ray showed more than a dozen rib fractures in various
stages of healing.
The doctor told police it appeared the baby had been shaken while being held around the midsection.
Fields was arrested Thursday. She was still at the Douglas County jail on Saturday.
It was not immediately known whether she had an attorney.
If convicted, Fields faces up to 20 years in prison.
