HARDIN COUNTY
— Kentucky State Police are on the lookout for an Elizabethtown man
wanted for not returning his two children to their custodial mother
last month. Clifford
Leo Skees, 48, is wanted by police for custodial interference. He could
be charged with a Class D felony, punishable by up to five years in
prison. According
to attorney Jim Hickman of Sevierville, Tenn., Skees was scheduled to
return the children to their mother on Feb. 5 after a scheduled visit.
Skees and the children never showed up. “There’s a divorce and we know that he (Skees) has family in the area,” said Hickman, guardian ad litem for the children. The
last known local address for Skees is 6176 Bardstown Road. KSP Lt.
David Lee said troopers have been to the residence “several times” and
have not seen Skees or the children there or anywhere else. “His father opened the door for us and we looked around the house,” Lee said. “None of his family knows where he’s at.” Lee said KSP talked to three family members at length about Skee’s possible whereabouts. Last
week, Skees lost temporary custody of the children — 7-year-old
Jedidiah Kane Skees and his 4-year-old sister, Samantha Jayne Skees,
Lee said. An Endangered Child Alert for the children was issued Wednesday by police in Sevierville.
Skees is described as a white male with brown eyes and brown hair. He is 5 feet 10 inches tall and weighs 155 pounds. Jedidiah
Kane Skees is 4 feet tall and weighs 60 pounds. He has brown hair and
green eyes. Lee said Jedidiah Skees has not attended his local
elementary school since Feb. 2. Samantha Jayne Skees is 3 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 35 pounds. Skees was last seen driving a brown 1978 Ford F-150 pickup truck. Anyone with information should contact Kentucky State Police at (270) 766-5078 or Sevierville, Tenn., police at (865) 453-5506.

Two children police say were abducted by their father have been found safe in Montana.
7-year-old
Jedidiah Skees and 4-year-old Samantha Skees hadn't been seen since
February 5. On that day, police say they were in London with their
father, Clifford Skees.Police say Clifford Skees was supposed to return the children to their mother, in Sevierville, Tennessee, February 5.
U.S. Marshals say they got a tip recently that said Clifford Skees had attended a small church in Lolo, Montana.
Police investigated, and later found the children at the Ponderosa Lodge in Missoula.
Both
children are now with a child protective services agency. Skees is
charged with custodial interference and violating a protective order.
Investigators say other charges are pending.
