CHRISTINA MICHELE PARSONS - 15 yo - Lenoir/Mount Airy NC/TN alerted

Fifteen-year-old Christina Michele Parsons' parents reported her
missing on the morning of April 1.

She was in the family's Lenoir home when they went to bed the night
before. When they woke up, she was gone.

She is believed to be with Kenny King, 37, on Lenoir, said Capt. Sid
Pope of the Lenoir Police Department.

King is described as a family friend. Parsons' parents found a photo
in her purse of her and King together.



Pope said investigators have been told Parsons and King are a couple,
and Parsons left with him voluntarily.

Investigators think they may be in the Mount Airy area or in Carter
County, Tenn. Law enforcement agencies in both areas have been contacted
and are on the lookout for the couple.

King drives a white 2000 Chrysler Concorde. He may have one of two
North Carolina license plates on his car. They are ZNN3842 and ZNN6273.

Parsons is 5-feet, 4-inches tall and weighs 138 pounds. She has
blonde hair and blue eyes.

King is 5-feet, 3-inches tall and weighs 165 pounds. He has brown
hair and brown eyes.

The investigation is ongoing and anyone with information about
Parsons' disappearance is asked to contact the Lenoir Police Department

Fifteen-year-old Christina Parsons left home without her purse,
identification or a change of clothes more than two months ago.

Her parents, Thomas and Lori Parsons, think she left voluntarily with
Kenny King, 38. King was a trusted family friend and attended
Chesterfield Church of Christ with the Parson family.

The police and her parents want Christina to come home.

Lenoir Police issued a warrant for King's arrest for contributing to
the delinquency of a minor.

"We're still looking for them," said Capt. Sid Pope of the Lenoir
Police Department. "We're frustrated. We want her back."

He said tips continue to trickle in but leads are few.

Thomas Parsons said King often brought his 16-year-old son and
10-year-old daughter to visit his family, but Parsons never noticed any
inappropriate behavior between King and Christina.

Now he thinks the two were in a secret relationship. Lori Parsons
said Christina's friends at school say Christina told them she was
pregnant.

"It's a gut feeling that he (King) messed up, and he had to get away
because he was facing statutory rape charges," Thomas Parsons said.

Christina was goal-oriented. She wanted to become an EMT. She was
enrolled in high school classes geared to earn her certification,
Parsons said.

"She's always been a good kid," she said.

Lori Parsons reported her daughter missing on April 1. The night
before, she'd reminded her mother to wake her for school. The next
morning Parsons entered her room and found it empty.

"I was frantic when I couldn't find her – I was screaming her name,"
she said.

She called her husband. He met her at the police station where they
filed a report.

The couple wasn't sure where to look for their daughter. They found a
photo in Christina's purse of the 15-year-old and King together with
his arm around her shoulders and he became their prime suspect.

The day Cristina went missing, her parents went to Mt. Airy because
they'd heard King had family there. They filed a report with the police
in Mt. Airy and have since done the same in West Virginia and Carter
County, Tennessee.

Pope said Lenoir police investigators traveled to the same three
locations to find the couple. Each time, they ran into dead ends. King
and Parsons have been entered into a nationwide database. If any officer
finds Parsons, she will be returned to her parents, Pope said.

"If I knew where she was, I'd jump in the car and get her right now,"
he said.

Thomas Parsons works for Caldwell Freight Lines. About a month after
Christina left, one of the company's drivers saw a photo of her in the
office and said he was 95 percent sure he'd seen her in Florida.

There have been no other sightings since his daughter left 66 days
ago.

"We have heard nothing – we don't even know if she's alive or not,"
he said. "If she would just call and tell me she's OK, even if she said
she wasn't going to come home, that would give me great relief."

His wife wants more than a phone call. She wants her daughter home.

"This is where she belongs," she said.

The Parson family doesn't think law enforcement has done enough to
find their daughter so they're looking for additional help.

Parsons has registered her daughter with the National Center for
Missing and Exploited Children.

The couple is also hosting two charity softball tournaments to raise
money to fund their continued search for their daughter.

The first is to be held on June 26 at Mulberry Recreation Center in
Lenoir. The second tournament is scheduled for July 24 in Sawmills.

A teenager, missing since April from her hometown in Lenoir, was
located Friday morning in Virginia after the dangerous birth of a baby
boy she'd conceived with her 38-year-old boyfriend.
Authorities in Tazewell County, Virginia say 15-year-old Christina
Parsons was discovered having seizures in a trailer home in Richlands,
Virginia. She'd given birth to the infant hours before.
Parsons was transported to a hospital in Tennessee, where neighbors
tell us her parents met her. The baby was also taken to a hospital and
put into the care of the Department of Social Services.
Kenny King, 38, was arrested and charged with two counts of abuse and
neglect of a child. He's also accused as a fugitive from justice in
North Carolina on a charge of rape. He's in jail in Tazewell County
without bond.
Neighbors Dallas and Marie Stewart confirmed the Parsons
family has been distraught since their daughter disappeared one night in
April. "They’ve been awful tore up about it," Marie Stewart said.
Stewart says she did not know that the girl was pregnant. "She went
to school everyday. She just acted like she always did. They are just
nice little girls."
As for King, she says the family did not know about the relationship.
"He know better than that. He wasn’t that stupid. He knowed she was a kid," Stewart said.
In a sad and strange twist, the community of Tazewell County is now
mourning the death of a deputy that is related to the discovery of
Parsons and King.
Deputy Shawn Hess was en route to another crime scene connected with
the case in a remote part of the county when he crashed his patrol car
and died. Hess was a 6-year veteran of the Tazewell County Sheriff's
Office.

A missing teen from Lenoir was found Friday in Richlands VA after paramedics were called to help her.

According to a news release from the Richlands Police Department,
someone called 911 at about 4 a.m. on Friday for a 15-year-old who had
just given birth in a mobile home and was having seizures. When the fire
and rescue squad arrived, along with the police department, they
learned that the teen had given birth to a baby boy just hours before,
and was in critical condition.

Police discovered that the 15-year-old was Christina Parsons, the
missing teen from Lenoir. With her was
Kenny King, 38, who was wanted in the disappearance of Parsons. He is
the father of the baby and helped in the birth and delivery of the
infant.

Parsons was reported missing by her family on April 1, and hadn't
been seen since. School friends of Parsons' had said Parsons told them
she was pregnant, although her parents hadn't known. King was a family
friend, and has two children, 10 and 16, of his own. Lenoir police
believe the two were in a secret relationship and left so King could
avoid statutory rape charges.

After the police determined who the teen and man were, criminal
investigators were called to the the mobile home. They investigated the
area and seized several items, including a 2000 Chrysler Concord. That
car matches the car King owns, according to previous reports by the
Lenoir Police Department.

While criminal investigators searched the mobile home, they found
evidence that suggested there was another crime scene in a remote area
of Tazewell County VA according to the press release. While driving
to that area, Deputy Sheriff Shawn Hess got in a car wreck, crashed into
a guardrail and died.

Parsons and her baby were taken to Clinch Valley Medical Center in
Richlands. Parsons was later taken to Johnson City Medical Center in
Tennessee for her injuries, where she remains in critical condition,
according to the release.

King was arrested and charged with two counts of abuse and neglect of
a child in Virginia. He is being held without bond in Tazewell VA


King will be extradited to North Carolina. The Lenoir Police
Department plan to charge King with contributing to the delinquency of a
child and nonsupport, said Capt. Sid Pope, with the Lenoir Police
Department. He said the police department also plans to charge him with
one count of rape. Pope said he didn't know if King would face charges
in Virginia or North Carolina first.

"We have an investigator headed to Virginia, and they'll look into
the charges," he said. "We hope to know more after the investigator
comes back."

Pope said he is unsure how many months pregnant Parsons was and if
the birth was premature. He said he thought King and Parsons were in
Virginia the entire time the pair was missing.

Parsons' parents, Lori and Thomas, have gone to Tennessee to be with Parsons, Pope said.

"This has been an emotional, difficult and frustrating investigation," he said. "We're glad she's back with her family."
