"John Doe" - 8 yo - Salisbury (btwn Charlotte and Greensboro) NC

A 72-year-old foster parent has been charged with abusing an 8-year-old
boy.



Salisbury Police charged Annie Mae Price of 1520 Statesville Boulevard
with misdemeanor child abuse following an investigation requested by
the Rowan County Department of Social Services.
The child sustained bruises on his chest, arms and back, reportedly from
being struck repeatedly by a wet rag.
Chief Rory Collins said the child was placed in Price's custody by the
Alexander Youth Network of Charlotte, a private agency.
Social Services notified police of the possible abuse on April 11.
Collins said the child told Social Service investigators that they went
to Cracker Barrel and he misbehaved. When they got home, he said she
beat him with the "wet rag."
Collins said pictures of the boy show bruises or marks.
Rowan County Social Services took custody of the child.
