Chandler AZ ---- Police in the Phoenix suburb of Chandler say they need help
locating a 16-year-old girl who may be with a suspect in a homicide in Oklahoma.



Mixarai Zumaia (Me-Shar-ay' Zoo-My-eh') was last seen Saturday.
She may be with 19-year-old Pedro Gaeta and on the way to Oklahoma,
Texas or Mexico, Detective David Ramer said
Gaeta is wanted on a first-degree murder warrant issued in Tulsa.
"This is a 16-year-old girl who needs to be home with her
parents, not out with a homicide suspect," Ramer said.
Gaeta knows the girl's family, and Mixarai had a crush on him and
likely left with him voluntarily, Ramer said. But she called her
family, and indications are she wants to come home.
Zumaia is a Hispanic female, 4 feet 11 inches tall. She weighs
110 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
Gaeta is Hispanic, 5-foot-7 and 125 pounds, with black hair and brown eyes.
Police have no dsecription of the vehicle the couple may be driving.

A Chandler family is begging for the public's help in finding their
16-year-old daughter who went missing with a dangerous man over the
weekend. Police believe she left her home willingly with a man
suspected of murder. But now, she wants to come home. "Sometimes I
feel mad sometimes I feel like I'm going to cry I miss her I want her
back sometimes I don't know what to think," says Mixarai Zumaia's
younger sister. The 16-year-old told her parents Saturday morning
she was on her way to a hair appointment but around 4 p.m., texted her
family to say she'd run away with Pedro Gaeta -- someone who she'd just
met. Gaeta allegedly has a violent history. The 19-year-old is
wanted for murder on a warrant out of Tulsa, Okla. "A lot of
concerns when you have a 16-year-old naive child with an adult who has
already demonstrated he has no regard for human life," says Det. Frank
Mendoza with the Chandler Police Dept. Mixarai's parents told
police their daughter texted them late Saturday night saying she wished
she could come home and she wasn't sure about her decision to leave.
"We all miss her we just want her back," says Mixarai's sister. Chandler
Police believe the two may be headed to Oklahoma, Texas, or Mexico,
where Gaeta has family ties.

A Tulsa murder suspect is on the run and he has a 16-year-old
Arizona girl with him.
Her family and police are worried sick, especially since her text
messages stopped two days ago.
Tulsa Police believe the teenage girl from Chandler, Arizona went to
meet Pedro Gaeta on Saturday, but then changed her mind and now, can't
get away from him.
Her parents are frantic now that they've learned he's charged with a
cold blooded murder in Tulsa in November.
Tulsa Police say he could be headed to Oklahoma, so be on the
look-out.
Arizona police say 16-year-old Mixarai Zumaia told her parents she
was going to get her hair done on Saturday, but, actually went to meet
Pedro Gaeta.
She told her family she was leaving with him in text messages, but
then the tone of those messages changed.
"Sometime between the first text message to the last, they felt she
had a change of heart and was reluctant to be with this individual and
wanted to come home," said Detective Frank Mendoza, Chandler, Arizona
Police Department.
The texts stopped altogether on Sunday at midnight. Gaeta has been
wanted in Tulsa since November 21st after witnesses saw him kill Alvaro
Deleon on North Troost.Witnesses told police Gaeta choked and beat a girl.
That girl's brother and husband went to Gaeta's house and when they
couldn't find him, broke out the windows of his house and car.
Witnesses say Gaeta later walked up to the woman's brother, pointed a
gun at his head and pulled the trigger.
"He's a very dangerous man and he's armed at all times, according to
the information we have," said Sergeant Mike Huff, Tulsa Police. "And
we're very concerned about her safety with this dangerous fugitive."
Mixarai's sister says her sister met Gaeta through a family friend
and believes the two had been talking on the Internet.
"She was a good student, straight A's, honors," her sister said. "She
was studying cosmetology."
Gaeta's mother and twin brother still live in Tulsa and he has
friends nearby. That's one reason they wonder if he could be headed to
the Sooner state. Mendoza went on to say,, "We're asking if they know of this individual or a car he is driving or
any known addresses any tidbit, regardless of how trivial you think it
is, it could be that one thing that will bring her home to her family
safely,"
The one key piece of evidence detectives don't have is what type of
vehicle the two are traveling in.
They say other than Oklahoma, he could be headed to Texas or Mexico.
