"Unborn Baby Boy" - Stroudsburg (SE of Wilkes-Barre) PA
Stroudsburg PA ---- Officials in Pennsylvania have
conducted an autopsy on the body of the unborn child killed in a
bizarre self-abortion that saw a 13-year-old teenager use a pencil to cause the abortion.
The Monroe County Coroner's Office issued a ruling today
indicating the unborn child was a boy.
The teen girl subjected herself to the abortion after her much-older 30-year-old
boyfriend victimized her in a reportedly consensual sexual relationship lasting a year.
The boyfriend, Michael James Lisk, of Kunkletown, is believed to be the
father of the unborn child, then buried the body of the dead unborn
child after the abortion was completed.
Police indicated Lisk put the baby's body in a plastic shopping bag
and buried the bag in a wooded area alongside a road between his house
and the girl's.
Coroner Dave Thomas ruled the death as intrauterine fetal demise. That means the unborn baby boy
died in his mother's uterus at some point between pregnancy and before birth.
Thomas would not rule on the specific manner of death and would not estimate
how old the boy was in the pregnancy at the time his mother took his
life in the self-induced abortion.
The abortion reportedly occurred last Wednesday and Lisk allegedly retrieved the bag containing the body of the
unborn child from the ground after the teenager threw it near a tree.
Lisk is in Monroe County Prison under $50,000 bail and he faces
100 counts of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and involuntary
deviate sexual intercourse. He also faces one count of concealing a the death of a child and abuse of corpse.
Police records show the teen had the abortion last week but became very ill over the weekend and
eventually delivered the body of the dead baby boy on Saturday. Lisk allegedly
helped her deliver the stillborn child.
Lisk told police the couple had sexual relations "too many times
to count" and said he believed he was the father of the unborn
child. He dug up the remains of the baby after police questioned him.
The unnamed teenage girl has not been charged and is receiving therapy.

The Monroe County Coroner's Office ruled Wednesday that a fetus buried
in a wooded area after a 13-year-old girl induced an abortion
with a pencil was a boy and was dead at birth.
Coroner Dave Thomas ruled the cause of death as intrauterine fetal
demise, meaning the fetus died in the uterus during pregnancy and before
birth.
The coroner's office does not rule on the manner of death on a fetus,
and will not estimate how far along the girl was before inducing the
abortion.
Michael J. Lisk, 30, of Polk Township is charged with raping the girl
during a lengthy sexual relationship. He also allegedly retrieved the
fetus, in a bag, from a tree where the girl threw it after delivering it
on Saturday. He took the bag to Lower Middle Creek Road in the township
and buried it there, state police said in an affidavit.
Police said Lisk had been having a sexual relationship with the girl
since she was 12.
Lisk is in Monroe County Prison under $50,000 bail, charged with more
than 100 counts of rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and
involuntary deviate sexual intercourse, and one count each of concealing
the death of a child and abuse of a corpse.
According to the arrest affidavit:
The girl admitted to a doctor who was treating her at Lehigh
Valley Hospital-Cedar Crest that she caused the abortion Wednesday
with a lead pencil. The girl got increasingly ill for three days and
delivered the fetus Saturday at her Polk Township home.
Police interviewed the girl at the hospital and she said she called
Lisk, who lives nearby, early on Saturday when her contractions were
getting stronger. Lisk told her to "push hard" during strong
contractions, and she gave birth to a "stillborn baby."
After aborting the fetus, she called Lisk and he told her to put the
fetus in a bag and he would come by to help her.
After police finished speaking to the girl at the hospital, she and her
mother called Lisk and told him police were going to speak to him. He
dug up the fetus, wrapped it in two plastic bags and left it out in the
open for state police.
As the investigation progressed, police learned about the sexual
relationship between the two.
Lisk admitted he had sex with the victim "too many times to count," and
compared their relationship to "a marriage where you have sex all the
time." He also said he believed he was the father of the baby.
The girl, who is still in the hospital, has not been charged, state
police said.

STROUDSBURG, Pa.—An eastern Pennsylvania man has been sentenced to 21 to 41 years in state prison for the rape of a young teenager and for burying a baby's body after the girl performed a home abortion.
Thirty-one-year-old Michael Lisk of Polk Township was sentenced Tuesday after pleading guilty to rape of a child, statutory sexual assault and concealing the death of a child.
Authorities said Lisk impregnated the Monroe County girl in 2009 when she was 12. They said the girl told them she attempted an abortion on herself and the baby was stillborn. Police said Lisk took the fetus and buried it in a wooded area near his home.
