Kimberly Crigger, 16, of New London, was last seen May 21. The white
girl is 5-foot-2, weighs 107 pounds and has brown hair and brown eyes.
"The problem we're having is cooperation," New London Police Chief Michael Marko said.
He suspects the girl's stepfather has been in contact
with her, but the chief said the man is not cooperating with
authorities. However, Marko said Crigger's aunt, the girl's legal
guardian, has been cooperative. The girl's father is in a homeless shelter.
When Crigger went missing several weeks ago, Marko said
police got some "good information," which led to officers finding the
girl at her mother's Ashland home.
"We've checked Mom's house five or six times unannounced (this time).
... She's definitely not at Mom's house," Marko said.Crigger has been active online.
"She's been on Facebook every day," Marko said.
Anyone with information on the whereabouts of Kimberly Crigger is encouraged to call the New London
Police Department at (419) 929-3504.

located early this morning in Beavercreek in Greene County.

an apartment “with a few other guys,” including the apartment complex
manager and a distant cousin, New London Police Chief Mike Marko said.
Crigger had been missing since May 21.

Marko said police
apprehended Crigger and charged her with delinquency.

Another Norwalk area teen who ran away and was found a day before Abbi Obermiller also
appeared in court last week.
Kimberly Crigger, 16, denied the charges against her, which included
violating a probation order she had for a previous disappearance.
Kimberly’s aunt said the girl has run away multiple times. Kimberly
left school in New London in late May and police found her at an
apartment in Beavercreek after receiving a tip from the apartment manager.
When police arrived, she jumped from a second-story window. She
wasn’t seriously injured, but she was ordered to undergo a psychological
evaluation and physical exam.
Those tests are not unusual in cases in which children or teens have
been missing for an extended period of time, Mushett said.
Kimberly is scheduled to appear in court again at 11:30 a.m. July 9.

A teenage New London runaway girl was released from detention and
into the custody of her mother at a hearing in Huron County Juvenile
Court on Friday.

Kimberly Crigger, 16, of New London, was reported missing May
21 and later found in late June at a Beavercreek apartment of a distant
cousin in Greene County.

When Beavercreek law enforcement
officials attempted to apprehend Crigger at the apartment, she jumped
out a second-story window, pushing the air-conditioning unit out along
with her, police reported. She was taken to the hospital at that time,
but no injuries were reported.

Crigger had been talking to the
people in the apartment about how she was a runaway and that the media
had been covering the story. The teenager got on the Internet and showed
the men the story the Reflector had recently written about her. The
apartment complex manager became concerned, returned to his apartment,
saw the article on the Internet and contacted the New London Police
Department. Officer Kevin VerBurg, in turn, contacted officers with the
Beavercreek department, who went to the apartment.

At Friday's
hearing, Crigger was wearing a back brace due to landing on the
air-conditioning unit.

Court personnel indicated upon a visit to
the Norwalk Clinic, it was discovered Crigger suffered the compressed
fracture of two vertebrae from the fall.
In mid-April, the New London High School sophomore was reported
missing, but police found her healthy at her mother's Ashland home.
Crigger's guardian discovered the teen was missing just before 6 a.m.
April 13 when she went into to her room to awake her and promptly called
police.

Huron County Assistant Prosecutor Jennifer DeLand told
the court that "Kim's current custodians, the Shepherds, no longer want
custody and Kim no longer wants to return there."

Crigger had
been in the custody of Woodrow and Patricia Shepherd, of New London.

"We
want out of this case for good," Patricia Shepherd told Judge Timothy
Cardwell.

"I apologize; I don't know how anybody can do it," she
added.

Before Cardwell released Crigger to her mother, Misty
Patton, of Ashland, he wanted assurances from Patton that daughter would
be properly supervised at the home.

"She has to respect the
rules," Patton said.

Cardwell thanked the Shepherds for their
efforts with Crigger and also said he would transfer the two delinquency
cases to Ashland County Juvenile Court for disposition.
