Death penalty expert leaves Casey Anthony defense team

Casey Anthony's death penalty expert attorney Dr. Andrea Lyon has left the defense team. Dr. Lyon, a professor at DePaul University in Chicago, joined the defense team last year.

Defense attorney Jose Baez cited financial reason as the reason for Dr. Lyon's departure.

During her time with the defense, Dr. Lyon authored complex legal challenges to Florida's use of the death penalty.

Baez said Lyon will still be available to consult with the defense team.
