The Needham Police Department is attempting
to locate a missing female who may be in need of medical attention.


Mikayla Bennett, 17, a 4'9" female weighing 150 lbs with dark hair and
olive skin, was on a weekend pass from a Department of Children and
Family Services residential program when she went missing, according to a
Needham Police statement.

She was last seen on Friday at around 8:30 p.m. wearing blue jeans, a
brown V-neck shirt, red and white sneakers, and a black backpack.

She was dropped of at a MBTA bus stop in Malden and was heading to Lynn.

Bennett has been entered into the FBI's National Crime Information
Center database as "missing/runaway," and there is a child in need of
services (CHINS) warrant for her in effect. Contact Needham Police

A Needham mother is asking for the public’s help in the search for her missing daughter Mikayla Bennett.
The 17-year-old went missing Saturday.“She's type one diabetic, so I worry
that she has no medication with her,” said Lisa Bennett, Mikayla’s mother.
She also said her daughter has mental health issues and is in a residential program.
Mikayla was on a weekend pass when her father picked her up then dropped her
off around 8:30 p.m. at her boyfriend’s house in Malden.
After that, Mikayla’s boyfriend’s mother dropped her off at a Malden MBTA bus
station after Mikayla said her mother gave her permission to go to a
party in Lynn. Lisa Bennett said she never knew about the party.
Bennett fears her daughter may have met a boy Facebook and went to Lynn to meet him.
“She made it to Lynn because she borrowed someone’s phone to call my husband
to say she had a ride home,” said Bennett.That was the last time the Bennetts heard
from Mikayla.Both Bennett and Needham police were asking for the public’s help.“We
feel like we’ve made some progress in the investigation and we’re
absolutely looking for the public’s help in getting her home,” said
Needham Police Lt. Chris Baker.A candlelight vigil was planned for Mikalya on Friday night
in Needham.“I just hope she knows we are looking for her,” said Bennett.

Mikayla Bennett, the Needham teen who went missing on Jan. 8, has been
found. Boston Police found her Monday night and notified the Department
of Children and Families, Needham Police and her family.


According to the Boston Police Department, on Monday at approximately
6:12p.m., officers responded to 10 Longfellow St. in Boston for a report
that there was an unknown female banging on the door. The unknown
female was later identified as Bennett.
Officers located Bennett on the rear porch and said she appeared to be confused and in need of services.
While she was being taken to Boston Medical Center she told police her
name. Officers then found her missing person report and informed DCF,
Needham Police and her family.
This is not the first time Bennett has been reported missing. In August
of 2010, she was reported missing after last being seen at a Malden bus
stop on her way to Lynn on weekend pass from the Department of Children
and Family Services residential program in Arlington. She was found six
days later.
