Family members found a missing teenage immigrant Sunday night after an intense day-long search.Juna Torres Rodriquez, 15, was last seen at her home about 9 p.m. Saturday. She left from the back door.Family members located her on North Street in Graham, according to Lt. Brian Long. He said she had minor scratches on her legs and arms from being in a wooded area. Long said Rodriquez was glad to be found, but did not seem "hysterical" or upset. He said she became disoriented after leaving her home. Rodriquez found an abandoned house in Graham where she stayed for a while, Long said. She tried to find her way back home Sunday, but couldn't.Police were trying to find her quickly because she suffers from a mental or cognitive issue."She left without telling anyone. The family says this is unusual. She doesn't leave the house, particularly this time of night," said Burlington Police Capt. Steve Smith."There's no indication of something happening prior to or something being the impetus for her to leave at that time or under circumstances that she may have been upset about something, there's nothing to indicate that right now," he said.Rodriquez's family moved to the country from Mexico two months ago."She's real quiet. She probably if she sees somebody, she'll be afraid, cause she's new to the country," said Rigoberto Vital, her cousin."She don't know nothing that much around because she's been here two months," he said.He said some neighbors saw her walking down Loy Street, where her family lives, Saturday night.Smith said 38 people searched Sunday in wooded areas near Rodriquez's house and near a lake area."We've also used a service, missing child service that actually uses a phone call to the surrounding neighborhood to notify those people of this missing juvenile," he said."She was taking some medications. We feel like she probably needs those medications, but we don't think she does have them with her.""In her condition, the way we see her, it would probably be tough. We seen her, she probably, (her) dad or mom said probably can walk not so far and she can just feel week, you know?," Vital said.Police continue to investigate. Anyone with information about where Rodriquez was during the time she was missing is encouraged to call Burlington Police at (336) 229-3500.
