Lexington Police say they found a toddler badly beaten. Now she's at UK Hospital recovering from broken bones and severe internal injuries.
Police arrested the child's mother, 19-year-old Anna Eury, Tuesday. She's now charged with four counts of abuse. Police say the found the child injured on Bennett Avenue while investigating a nearby home invasion. They were going door-to-door, looking for information for that case, when they made the discovery. Family members say 1-year-old Tabathia Buster was badly beaten. Neighbors say they watched as Tabathia's mother was questioned by police. One neighbor told us says she never noticed anything out of the ordinary with the mother and the baby. As of Tuesday morning, Tabathia was listed in fair condition at UK Hospital. Eury is being held at the Fayette County Detention Center.

Anna Eury, 19, was charged with four counts of first-degree criminal abuse after she was interviewed at police headquarters Tuesday, Lexington police spokeswoman Sherelle Roberts said.Officers found the child about 1 p.m. Tuesday while they were talking to residents of Bennett Drive about a burglary in the area. Eury and the child were at a home in the 700 block, Roberts said."When officers arrived ... they noticed that a child inside the home had what appeared to be serious injuries," Roberts said. "If officers were not playing close attention, they could have completely missed this situation."Roberts said the child appeared to have broken bones and other internal injuries but said it was to early to say what caused them.Because of the child's age, Roberts said she could not release any information that might identify the minor, including the child's age, sex or relationship to Eury. Officers called Emergency Care Units and Child Protective Services to the home, Roberts said. The child was taken to an area hospital and was being treated Tuesday afternoon.
