Investigators need your help to find a missing Tuscaloosa teenager. Christen Harper, 13, is 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighs approximately 145 pounds. Police say she was last seen by her family at their residence in the 1400th block of Ridgewood Road on Sunday evening. Harper was wearing a grey sweatsuit.

Tuscaloosa Police have launched an extensive search for a missing 13-year-old Tuscaloosa girl. Christen Harper was last seen at 9 p.m. Sunday at her home in the Hillsdale subdivision, off University Boulevard East near Five Points. “We are not considering this a runaway, it's a missing person case,” said TPD Juvenile Division Sgt. Michael Chaisson. “We're doing everything we can to locate her.”Harper's family last saw her in the kitchen of their home on Ridgewood Road around 9:30 p.m. Sunday, Chaisson said. Her mother called police when she went to her daughter's room to wake her for school the next morning, he said.Police officers went door to door in the neighborhood Tuesday, asking neighbors if they had seen Harper or knew her whereabouts. Around 20 officers searched a wooded area near the subdivision using a bloodhound dog trained to track scents, Chaisson said. Investigators spent Wednesday following leads they developed and received from callers. They listed the Eastwood Middle School student with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children and have notified law enforcement agencies in all Southeastern states. Officers also activated the “A Child Is Missing” system, an automated program that calls homes within five miles of the child's residence with a missing alert. An Amber Alert was not issued. Amber Alerts can only be issued when certain information is known, including whether the case is actually an abduction or if there is a description of an abductor or vehicle.Harper is 5 feet, 7 inches tall and weighs 145 pounds. Just after 8 o'clock tonight the teen called her mother from Panera Bread in Patton Creek.

Captain Jim Coker with the Hoover Police Department confirms that moments after the call a Hoover Police Officer picked her up and is in route to meet Tuscaloosa Police at the county line to reunite her with her family.
