Last week, the defense scheduled another 14 depositions in the case. They also questioned scientists from the Tennessee lab that found traces of decomposition in the trunk of Casey's car.
Recently, three lawyers joined lead attorneys Jose Baez and Cheney Mason. They are Ann Finnell, a Jacksonville attorney and expert on the death penalty, Dorothy Clay Sims, an Ocala attorney who specializes in cross-examining medical experts, and Charles Greene, an Orlando attorney who will handle Casey's civil case.

Casey Anthony's Lawyers In Court For Status Hearing

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Lawyers in the case against Casey Anthony were in court Monday afternoon. Casey is not required to attend Monday's status hearing.
Jose Baez spoke first in front of Judge Belvin Perry Jr. about rescheduling expert witnesses in the case. Judge Perry allowed Baez to reschedule seven expert witnesses.
"The folks that you listed will be extended until 19 of November," said Perry.
Some of the experts include computer and cell phone tower and record experts.
Judge Perry seemed frustrated when the issue on expert reviews came up. Perry told Baez that the bottom line is the experts' reviews should be completed by October 31.
Perry also asked how many witnesses that are not law enforcement still needed to be deposed. Baez replied 12, including the ones not listed by the state.
Some of the witnesses Baez listed included former jail inmate Robyn Adams and state prisoner 21-year-old Maya Derkovic, who knew Casey Anthony in jail.
Derkovic is a convicted killer. She said she met Casey in the Orange County jail. Derkovic reported details of her whispered conversations with Casey to detectives; the two used to talk in the jail through an air vent.
Also mentioned was former friend of Casey, Amy Huizenga, who Baez said will testify on the activities that took place between June and July of 2008, and is complainant of Casey's check charges.
Jose Baez said his team has 70 recently listed people and only want 18 for deposition.
When the issue of DNA evidence came up, Judge Perry made it clear that testing needed to stay in the U.S.
"I will not be authorizing evidence to be shipped outside of the United States," Judge Perry said.
"We can have it tested in the United States, we just want our experts to be the ones that test it," Baez stated.
