CAROLINA GONZALEZ GARCIA - 15 yo - Brownsville TX/Matamoros MX
The FBI is investigating the disappearance of a Brownsville teenager in Matamoros.
Her family can't understand where the girl might be or why she would leave and said it's not like her to leave the house.
Diana Garcia said she’s worried about her niece. Fifteen-year old Carolina Garcia disappeared last week. The Porter High School freshman was visiting her father in Mexico.
Her father told family members he was running errands when Carolina disappeared. She was gone when he got home, and no has heard from her since.
“That's one thing that we're very nervous and scared about is that she hasn't called home,” Diana Garcia said.
Carolina’s aunt said her niece has a passion for acting and had just landed an opportunity to host a TV show in Matamoros.
Carolina had a photo shoot scheduled the next day, and her aunt said she wouldn't have missed the photo shoot on purpose.
A report has been filed with Brownsville police, and a spokesperson said the girl is classified as a "missing person."
FBI and Mexican authorities are also investigating.
Diana Garcia said she’s trying to keep her sister, Carolina's mother, who lives in Austin, in good spirits and prevent her from thinking the worst.
The family is hoping someone in Mexico or Brownsville spotted her. They passed out fliers in hopes that someone has spotted the missing teen.

A number of missing person fliers has been posted on both sides of the border following the disappearance of a Porter High School freshman in Matamoros."There's no phone calls, no communications-- her mother, her father or her friends haven't heard from her," Blanca Perez-Moreno said.Carolina Gonzalez Garcia hasn't been seen or heard from since Thursday evening at 11:30.
She went there to stay at her father's home in Matamoros at the time.According to her father, Carolina was finishing her homework when he called home while out running a quick errand. When the father returned she was gone, according to Moreno who's the missing girl's God-Mother.
"I'm worried," she said. "I'm very concerned... she's never been away this long... and she's never ran away from home."Moreno says Carolina and her brother live at her house in Brownsville. Both siblings went Thursday after school to Matamoros. Only her brother went to school the next day.Blanca filed a runaway report with the Brownsville Police Department.A missing person's report was filed by Carolina's father in Matamoros.Bridge agents have been put on alert and were given a copy of the girl's Texas Identification. She has not attempted to cross back on foot. It's believed the student, described as reserved, may have been lured by an older teen online who lives in Matamoros. "Through 'facebook' and through her father I guess asking her brother... they came up with a name of a young man that she had been talking to," Moreno said. But the fact remains; nobody knows where she is or what happened to Carolina. And it's that fear of the unknown that has loved ones on both sides of the border fearing the worst."The general turmoil and the violence going on," Moreno said. "So what I'm trying to do is get her face out there and help so they find her just because of how violent it is and especially for a girl just 15."

The Federal Bureau of Investigation is apparently closer to finding a missing Porter High School freshman.Carolina Gonzalez Garcia hasn't been seen since last Thursday while visiting her father's house in Matamoros.A missing person's report was filed in Mexico.Loved ones on this side of the border where she lives in Brownsville fear for her safety.A relative in contact with the FBI would only reveal that the agency is getting closer to finding the 15-year-old girl. Anyone with information should contact police.
