Man charged with raping 13-year-old neighbor

Prosecutors on Monday charged a 19-year-old man accused of raping his 13-year-old neighbor.

Jose Luis Barrera-Landa was with the girl in the 1800 West block of Parkway Boulevard when he assaulted her, according to documents filed in 3rd District Court.

She told police he “forced me to have sex” in September 2009, according to the charge, and stopped after hurting her. Barrera-Landa faces one count of rape of a child.
