Prosecutors will release more documents in the Casey Anthony case today.
We'll post the new info here as it comes into the newsroom.

Lots of large video and audio files... taking a little longer to go
through this morning than the normal docs. We're having to convert some
formats so we can open them.

A woman named Melissa e-mailed an Orange County sheriff's deputy claims she befriended a woman named Zenaida on MySpace.com and says "I also wanted to say that after speaking with Zenaida via myspace instant message, I never got the mpression that she was directly responsible for Caylee's death or disappearance. I did however feel that she may have possibly known Casey at one point in her life or something."

This same woman also e-mailed pictures of her chats to someone named Cindy and said, "You and your family will always be in my thoughts and prayers. God bless you all. Warmest Wishes, Melissa"

It's not clear/confirmed, of course, that this woman was actually e-mailing Cindy Anthony.

Oh, and of course it is not at all confirmed that the Zenaido who this woman was contacting has anything to do with the case -- but their conversations are among the evidence nonetheless.

By the way-- on occasion prosecutors re-release info.

Bob Kealing and I were just discussing that. It's not clear why sometimes doc dumps contain info that's already been released.

Also included-- photos from a cell phone of George Anthony with the woman who claimed an affair.

We're working on getting all of this online for you.

A video interview of Lori Cree, a Texas Equusearch volunteer, was released today. A transcript of this interview was already released. Cree coordinated searches for Caylee even before Equusearch came to Central Florida.

Looks like we have some new audio from Maya Derkovic. Posting that now.

Maya called Melich on Dec 10 09 from jail. Looks like detectives went to talk to her the very next day.

Some of the transcripts we're posting today we've seen... but some of the audio and video of the interviews is new.

Casey Anthony: WKMG sees ’sideshow’ in latest document release

What is in the latest document dump in the Casey Anthony case?

A sideshow, loose ends and stale material, WKMG-Channel 6′s blunt Tony Pipitone said at noon today. Pipitone is a good, concise guide through the mounds of repetitive material in the long-running case. In his entertaining frustration, Pipitone asks: Why keep going over the same old ground?

Anthony is charged with first-degree murder in the death of her daughter, 2-year-old Caylee. The trial is scheduled to begin in May.

“There’s other old, rehashed stuff in today’s discovery dump, including interviews and background on people who claim things that are not credible and will probably never get into the trial,” Pipitone said.

Under the sideshow category, Pipitone mentioned “a woman who claims, without any evidence, that she had an intimate relationship with George Anthony,” Casey’s father. Pipitone also cited “a mentally ill woman who claims Caylee’s body was not in the woods when she went to see and inspect that area.”

These people don’t appear credible but make “good tabloid fodder,” Pipitone said.  He also highlighted that letters Casey Anthony wrote to a jail pen pal are better copies of material released months ago.”The same information, just another day,” Pipitone said.

WESH-Channel 2 played a tape of jail pen pal Maya Derkovic. She said that Anthony told her “maybe she should have waited to have a baby, because she was young and she wanted to live life. Maybe she should never have had a baby.”

WFTV-Channel 9 played a tape of searcher Joe Jordan, who said another searcher, Laura Buchanan, said she was working with Anthony attorney Jose Baez. Jordan also said that a defense private investigator showed him document that contained erroneous information about Jordan’s search of the area on Suburban Drive, where the toddler’s remains were found.
