Teen charged in Milwaukee student's homicide

MILWAUKEE (AP) - A 17-year-old is charged in the fatal shooting of a Milwaukee student walking home from a bus stop.
Prosecutors amended the complaint Monday to add a charge of first-degree intentional homicide against Markus Evans.
According to the complaint, Evans pointed a
shotgun at his mother last Wednesday. He then allegedly went to a
bedroom and his mother told police she heard a shot. Around that time,
17-year-old Jonoshia Alexander was fatally shot in the head while
walking near the house from dance practice.
Evans already had been charged with first-degree
recklessly endangering safety for allegedly pointing the gun at his
mother and illegally possessing a gun.

Markus Evans sentenced to life for the murder of 17-year-old Jonoshia Alexander

18-year-old Markus Evans was sentenced to life for the shooting death of a Milwaukee girl, 17-year-old Jonoshia Alexander. She was killed while on her way home from cheerleading practice on December 15th, 2010. Alexander was found in an alley with a single gunshot wound to her head.

Evans was charged with multiple counts including first degree intentional homicide, reckless endangerment and illegal possession of a firearm.
