Georgetown man charged with unlawful neglect of a child


Shannon Tisdale arrested for unlawful neglect of a child

Georgetown County Sheriff’s Investigators have arrested Mr. Shannon Tisdale for unlawful neglect of a child.

On December 31st at 12:49pm, the Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office
responded to 596 Gene Dr. in the Williams Hill section of Georgetown
County in reference to two missing children. Deputies were told that a
two year old male and a three year old male had been missing for 45
minutes.

Multiple agencies and numerous members of the community were involved
in a search for more than two hours before the children were found
about two miles from their home. Both children were in good health.

After a through investigation by Georgetown County Sheriff’s
Investigators, a warrant was issued for Tisdale, the father of the
children, on January 4th for Unlawful Neglect of a Child. Tisdale
voluntarily turned himself in at the Georgetown County Detention Center
at 8:00am Friday.

The Georgetown County Sheriff’s Office will continue following up
with the South Carolina Department of Social Services in this case to
ensure the safety of the children.
