Jurors To Hear More Forensics In Casey Anthony Murder Trial

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- On day 23 of Casey Anthony's murder trial, jurors are expected to hear more about forensic evidence, one day after groundbreaking evidence was introduced into the trial.

For the first time, testimony about controversial air tests was introduced on Monday, and the state hoped an expert on human decomposition could convince the jury Caylee Anthony's body was in her mother's car trunk before her remains were discovered.

The defense tried to discredit the state’s expert witness, Dr. Arpad Vass testified to extremely high levels of chloroform in Casey's trunk and he said the gases being emitted were consistent with a dead body being on the carpet.

Casey sat without emotion as Vass described his reaction to a container of air generated by a piece of trunk carpet from Casey's Pontiac.

“I jumped back a foot or two. I was shocked that the small sample could smell that strong,” said Vass.
