Judge Abruptly Calls Casey Trial Recess For Day
Day Ends Without Any Testimony; Jury Never Entered Courtroom

ORLANDO, Fla. -- Without any testimony and little explanation, Judge Belvin Perry recessed the Casey Anthony trial for the day around 9:40 Saturday morning.

About an hour earlier, attorneys got in a courtroom spat over the testimony of a defense expert witness.
Prosecutor Jeff Ashton again accused the defense of a discovery violation, saying that a defense expert, Dr. Kenneth Furton, did additional research since his deposition.
Ashton said the defense had new presentation material that the prosecution had not seen before.
Several discovery issues have arisen in the past several weeks since the trial began.
"You think this would've grown old by now, but I guess some things never change," Perry said.
