Trucker helps rescue Georgia child in NC
NEWNAN, GA (CBS ATLANTA) -

A truck driver in North Carolina has helped rescue a 2-year-old boy who was the subject of a missing child alert in Georgia.

Authorities say a trucker called early Friday morning to say he had spotted a suspicious car heading north on Interstate 85. After Highway Patrol officers arrived, the unidentified truck driver continued on his way.

Cameron Thomas Marsh was found with his non-custodial mother, 26-year-old Laura Sandra Marsh, almost three hours after a missing child alert was issued for the two year old.

Marsh was taken into custody 15 miles past the Georgia/North Carolina border.

Authorities issued the alert late Thursday for Cameron.

The Coweta County sheriff's office said he was taken by Marsh Thursday evening shortly after 6 p.m. in a car heading north on I-85.

Marsh is currently being held in the Gaston County, NC Jail.

Authorities described Marsh as bipolar and possibly violent.
