Police seek missing teen

MANKATO — A Mankato family is hoping the public can help find their missing 15-year-old daughter, who walked away from a group home in Eau Claire Saturday.

Dustin and Micki Schipper haven’t heard from their daughter, Samantha Frericks, since she left the facility. She is from Mankato and could be returning to the area.



Frericks had no money and only the clothes she was wearing when she left. She was wearing a yellow, hooded sweat shirt and dark sweat pants. Frericks has light brown hair, is about 5’2” tall and weighs about 115 pounds.

“Hopefully, if she does return to the area, someone sees her and they call 911,” said Det. Cmdr. Matt DuRose of the Mankato Department of Public Safety.

Update: Missing teen found in Kansas City

MANKATO — A missing 15-year-old Mankato girl, who left a Wisconsin treatment facility Saturday, has been found.

Dustin and Nicki Schipper received a phone call from Nikki's daughter, Samantha Frericks, this afternoon. Frericks told them she had hitchhiked to Kansas City and wanted to come home. The Schippers hadn't heard from Frericks since she left the Eau Claire facility around 3 p.m. Saturday.

Frericks had no money and only the clothes she was wearing when she left. The Schippers contacted the Kansas City Police Department and officers said they would find a place for the girl to stay until they could pick her up.
