MONICA and JALEN RAMIREZ - 16 yo & 2 Months - Champaign IL

Champaign Police have issued an Amber Alert for two missing girls.
Police are searching for a two month old baby, Jalen Rameriz, and a 16-year-old girl, Monica Rameriz.
The two-month-old baby is one foot one inch tall with black hair and
brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing maroon clothing, wrapped in a
rose-colored blanket.
The 16-year-old is five feet tall, weighing about 300 pounds with black
hair and brown eyes.
She was last seen wearing a blue long-sleeved
shirt, blue jeans and black shoes.
Both girls are hispanic.
They were last seen at 8:00 pm near 1005 North Prospect in Champaign.
Police say they were abducted by 26-year-old Miguel Flores-Ascencio.
Flores-Ascencio is five feet six inches tall, weighing 150 pounds with black hair and brown eyes.
He is believed to be driving a blue Ford Focus with Indiana license plates.

CHAMPAIGN - An Indiana man has been arrested for kidnapping and
intimidation for allegedly taking a Champaign teen and her infant
daughter from a north Champaign home Friday night.

Champaign police had issued an Amber alert for the 16-year-old girl
and her 2-month-old daughter about 12:30 a.m. Saturday after learning
that a man had forced the teen and her daughter to go with him in a car
about 8 p.m. Friday.


Deputy Chief Troy Daniels said the man, identified as Miguel
Flores-Ascencio, 26, of Lafayette, Ind., had come to the teen's house in
the 1000 block of North Prospect Avenue to speak to her. She had her
baby with her as she talked to him outside her parents' home. Daniels
said Flores-Ascencio allegedly threatened to harm her family if she
didn't go with him.

He said the girl's parents contacted police right away. Using
undisclosed techniques, police found the girl, her baby, and
Flores-Ascencio at a motel near Marketplace Mall in north Champaign
about 9 a.m. Saturday. The teen and the baby were not harmed.

Flores-Ascencio was taken to the county jail Saturday afternoon and is expected to make a court appearance Monday.

Daniels said an Amber Alert was issued because the initial
information police received was that the man had threatened the teen and
her family with serious harm. Champaign police were helped by the
Illinois State Police and the National Center for Missing and Exploited
Children.
