Police in New Jersey say they're looking for a man
wanted for questioning in the murder of his ex-wife and abduction of
their two children.
Anthony Trapp's ex-wife, Heather, was found dead in his Old Bridge Township, NJ home last night.
Police say the couple's children, 20-month-old Sophia and 5-year-old Emma, are with him.
New York State Police have issued an Amber Alert from the New York City area through the Canadian border.
Trapp is believed to be driving a red 2011 Nissan Rogue with New Jersey license plates C59BPB.
Anyone who spots them should call 911.

Two young girls were found safe in a New York motel early today
ending an intense search that began Thursday night when police found the
girls' mother dead in the home of their estranged husband in Old
Bridge.

Police found Emma Trapp, 5, and Sophia Trapp, 20 months, in a motel
in Orange County, N.Y. with their father, Anthony Trapp, 39, authorities
said today. Police were seeking Anthony Trapp for questioning in the
murder of Heather Trapp, 37.


Anthony Trapp was found dead in a room in the motel after apparently committing suicide, according to NBCNewYork.com.


Old Bridge police found the slain mother about 8 p.m. Thursday night
in Anthony Trapp's home on Rose Lane in Old Bridge, police Capt. Robert
Weiss said.

He said relatives had called police saying they could not reach the
separated couple and requesting that officers check the house.

Officers found Heather Trapp's body, and determined Anthony Trapp had fled with the girls in Heather Trapp's car.

Police issued an Ambler alert trying to locate the children.

"Our focus all night was on the girls," Weiss said.

He declined to comment on how the mother died or where she was found in
the house, but said Anthony Trapp was a person of interest in the
investigation.

Weiss said Anthony Trapp was located in the motel, and Old Bridge police
detectives and investigators from the Middlesex County Prosecutor went
to the motel with New York State police.


Weiss said the two girls were released from the motel room.


"They were definitely having their problems," said neighbor Anthony
Dalessio, who added Heather Trapp and the two girls had moved out of the
home. "Nobody was better than she was. She would do anything for her
children. Thank God the children are safe and now we have to grieve for
one of our best friends. This is just awful."
