GREAT BARRINGTON -- Relatives of a local runaway are asking for the public’s help in finding the missing teen.

Emily Mills, a junior, had been staying in foster care in Otis since August, according to her mother, because of issues with drugs and other associations in her hometown of Auburn.

Emily Mills is 5-feet 9-inches with blue eyes and brown hair. She has braces and ear, nose and belly button piercings.

Denise Mills said her daughter has left before, but always to somewhere she knew.

"This unknown is just killing me," she said.
Anyone with information is asked to contact the state police.

A runaway who went missing last week has been found in New York City.

Emily Mills, 16, had been living in foster care in Otis and had
been last seen on Jan. 25 at Monument Mountain Regional High School
boarding a bus for Pittsfield.

State police said on Friday that Mills, originally from Auburn,
had been found on Thursday after a concerned citizen struck up a
conversation with Mills, verified her missing status and notified police
of the situation.
Mills was turned over to the Department of Children and Families on Friday.

"We are so relieved to know that she is safe and will be returning to her family soon," said Jacqueline St. Martin, Mills aunt.
