On Dec. 31, 2012, staff writer Hal Boedeker of the Orlando Sentinel predicted that Casey Anthony would be ‘big news’ for 2013. Joining Casey Anthony in the prediction is fellow Florida resident George Zimmerman who is expected to go on trial this year for the death of Trayvon Martin. While Casey Anthony dominated headlines from 2008 until her trial in 2011, Anthony returns to court in 2013 and is expected to become a high-profile case once again.

While Lifetime gears up for their movie based on Jeff Ashton’s book “Imperfect Justice: Prosecuting Casey Anthony” (the film will be called “Prosecuting Casey Anthony”), Casey Anthony is returning to television on Jan. 8, 2013, as her Florida appeal for lying to law enforcement officers (she was convicted on four counts of the charge), will be televised.

Casey Anthony has made headlines since her daughter Caylee was reported missing on July 15, 2008. A search for the missing Florida child ensued until her remains were discovered near her home on Dec. 11, 2008. The exact cause of Caylee Anthony’s death was never known, however the Orange County medical examiner ruled the death as homicide.

On July 5, 2011, Casey Anthony stood in court alongside her criminal defense attorney Jose Baez, and learned she had been acquitted on charges of first-degree murder, aggravated manslaughter and aggravated child abuse.

As the new turn in the Casey Anthony case will be televised on Jan. 8, 2013, the Lifetime movie “Prosecuting Casey Anthony” will air on Jan. 15, 2013.

Casey Anthony currently has three civil lawsuits filed against her. A date will be set in the case Zenaida Gonzalez vs. Casey Anthony after her appeals are heard.
