Canadian man admits to traveling to Dallas to have sex with boy

A Canadian man has pleaded guilty in federal court to traveling to Dallas to have sex with a boy in a hotel, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
Phillip Amisano-Camillo, 42, pleaded guilty on Friday to one count of enticement of a minor.
His trial had been scheduled to begin on Monday in Dallas — for the enticement charge as well as a charge of traveling with intent to engage in sexual acts with a minor.
The government agreed to a punishment of not more than 40 years in prison. A judge has to approve the plea deal before it becomes official.
Sentencing is scheduled for Dec. 18.
Camillo admitted to meeting the 14-year-old victim in an Internet chat room in April 2012 and talking to him via Skype.
In May 2012, Camillo traveled from Washington State to Dallas to meet the boy and convinced him to “sneak out of his home,” authorities said.
Camillo took the boy to a local hotel where they had sex, the U.S. attorney’s office said.
