Autistic teen missing from Lincoln County

LINCOLN COUNTY, N.C. -- The Lincoln County Sheriff's Office is asking for the public's help in locating a missing autistic teen.

Alexa Briana Ikard, 18, was last seen Thursday morning around 10:30 in the area of the 3500 block of East Highway 27 in Lincolnton.

Ikard is described as 4-foot-8, 150 pounds, brown hair and brown eyes.

She was last seen wearing a gray shirt with a pink flower, black leggings, a dolphin ring and earrings.

Authorities say she may be visiting locations in any of the surrounding counties.

  Teen with autism reported missing found safe

A missing Lincoln County girl reported missing was found safe Friday morning.

After several calls from concerned residents Alexa Brianna Ikard was found at a home close to her residence in Lincolnton. She was returned safe to her parents.

The Lincoln County Sheriff’s Office thanked local media outlets and the spread of the story through social media for help in returning Ikard home. Police were especially concerned becaus the 18-year-old girl has autism. She had last been seen around 10:30 a.m. Thursday near 3570 N.C. 27 East in Lincolnton.
