Jefferson Parish Sheriffs Office Searching For Abducted Children

Louisiana State Police and Jefferson Parish Sheriff's Office are searching for three children who were abducted early this morning from an apartment on Durand St. in Metairie, LA.

The children were abducted by Their father, Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, a 43-year-old hispanic male with brown hair, after he murdered their mother. He was last seen wearing black pants and a blue shirt. He walks with a limp.

Missing Children:
Jessica Nicolle Monterroso, is a 14-year-old hispanic female with black hair and dark colored eyes.

Yojan Manuel Monterroso-Flores, is a 4-year-old hispanic male with black hair and dark colored eyes.

Jafet Abigaitl Monterroso-Monroy, is a 2-year-old hispanic male with black hair and dark colored eyes.

Photos of the suspect along with the 14-year-old and the 2-year-old are attached.

Law enforcement officials in Metairie, Louisiana, are looking for a man they say killed his girlfriend and abducted three of the couple's children.

According to a story from WUPL-TV, authorities are looking for Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas after receiving a medical assistance call at 3:35 a.m. Sunday from two of the couple's children -- a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old -- who had gone to a neighbor's home to make the 911 call.

After responding to the call, authorities found the children's mother, Heidi Monroy, 24, dead in the bathtub at the family home.

Jefferson County Sheriff Newell Normand told WWL-TV that Monterroso-Navas fled the scene with three of his children, a 14-year-old, a 4-year-old and a 2-year-old. He said Monterroso-Navas will be charged with second-degree murder.

Report: U.S. Authorities Release Illegal Alien With ‘Notice to Appear’ Form — Weeks Later, He’s Charged With Horrific Crime

Police in Texas have arrested Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas for allegedly murdering a woman in the United States, the Associated Press reported. It has since emerged that the man is reportedly an illegal immigrant who was recently released by U.S. authorities with only a “notice to appear” form before he committed the alleged crimes.

Breitbart Texas’ Brandon Darby, citing anonymous U.S. Border Patrol sources, reported that Monterroso-Navas was processed in the Border Patrol station in McAllen, Texas, on June 26. The Border Patrol source reportedly provided the illegal immigrant’s registration number — 202027386 — and “event number” connected to his apprehension, which is reportedly MCS14061487.

An additional U.S. Border Patrol source reportedly confirmed to Breitbart Texas that Monterroso-Navas, 43, was apprehended in June along with two children he argued were his kids. The Associated Press identified the illegal immigrant as a “suburban New Orleans man.” He reportedly told authorities he has family in Metairie, Louisiana.

The AP did not mention that the man is an illegal immigrant.

Monterroso-Navas faces a second-degree murder charge in the death of his girlfriend, who was found viciously bludgeoned in her New Orleans apartment over the weekend. The woman, identified as 24-year-old Heidi Monroy, was reportedly the mother of a 2-year-old who was with Monterroso-Navas, a Honduran, during his arrest.

Jefferson Parish sheriff’s Col. John Fortunato told the AP that the suspect was arrested early Monday with his three children in a trailer park in Katy, Texas.

Police responded to the murder scene after Monroy’s two other children, ages 5 and 8, asked neighbors for help at around 3:35 a.m. Sunday. When deputies arrived, they reportedly found the woman unconscious with head wounds. She died in her apartment.

METAIRIE, La.- Jefferson Parish deputies are searching for a man who allegedly killed his girlfriend and fled the crime scene after abducting his three children.

Deputies say Pedro Alberto Monterroso-Navas, 43, is wanted for the killing of Heidi Monroy, his 24-year-old girlfriend. They say he abducted his three children before fleeing the scene. He faces a second-degree murder charge.

The manhunt began after authorities responded to a medical call in the 4000 block of Durand Street at about 3:35 a.m. Sunday. Two of the couple's children, a 5-year-old and an 8-year-old, had gone to a neighbor's house to tell them something was wrong with their mother.

Sheriff Newell Normand said they found an woman in a bathtub unconscious. The woman suffered from blunt force trauma to the head. She was pronounced dead
on the scene.

Normand said Monterroso-Navas fled the scene with three of his children, including his daughter, 12-year-old Jessica Nicolle Monterroso, and two sons, 4-year-old Yojan Manuel Monterroso-Flores and 2-year-old Jafet Abigaitl Monterroso-Monroy.

The sheriff's office released pictures of the 12-year-old and the 2-year-old, which you can see to the right. They do not have a picture available of the 4-year-old.
The 2-year-old is the biological son of Monroy and Pedro Monterroso-Navas. The 12-year-old and 4-year-old are the biological children of Pedro Monterroso-Navas, while the 8-year-old and 5-year-old are Monroy's biological children.

The couple reportedly does not own a vehicle, and it's not clear how Monterroso-Navas escaped with the kids.

Normand said Monterroso-Navas is a 43-year-old hispanic male with brown hair.
He also goes by the name Wilson Rigoberto Mina. He was last seen wearing black pants and a blue shirt. He has a limp when he walks.

The sheriff's office originally said that Pedro and Monroy were married; however, they said later Sunday that was not the case.

METAIRIE, La. – According to the Jefferson Parish Sheriff’s Office, Pedro Alberto Monterosso-Navas, the man wanted for second degree murder in the death of his girlfriend in Metairie Sunday, was extradited to Jefferson Parish Friday afternoon.
Monterosso-Navas was arrested Monday in Texas.

JPSO sent out a release early Monday morning indicating that Monterosso-Navas, also known as Wilson Rigoberto Mena, who was wanted for second degree murder in death of his girlfriend, 24-year-old Heidi Monroy, had been arrested in a trailer park in Katy, Texas.

The Jefferson Parish Coroner's Office said Monday morning that Monroy died from blunt force trauma to the head.

All three of Monterosso-Navas' children were with him at the time of his arrest, and are reportedly fine and are now in the custody of Texas authorities.

Investigators were told of a phone conversation that took place early Monday morning between Monterosso-Navas' child and a female friend who was staying in Katy, Texas.

The mother of that child called the JPSO 911 Center, which ultimately led to Monterroso-Navas' arrest in Texas Monday morning.
