George, Cindy won't be charged in cross showdown

Here's a little relief for George and Cindy Anthony: They won't be charged in that showdown with two women last week.

WESH-Channel 2 reported the development this afternoon. Two St. Cloud women had accused the Anthonys and another couple of chasing them by car through the Anthonys' neighborhood. The women also said they saw Cindy Anthony take down a cross they put up to honor Caylee Anthony on the former site of a makeshift memorial to the little girl.

"The Anthonys' attorney disputed the women's version of events but never answered whether Cindy actually took the cross," anchor Martha Sugalski said.

WESH's Bob Kealing said, "After a weeklong investigation, sheriff's investigators say there is not evidence to file any charges against the Anthonys. Their attorney just told me no crime was committed."

George and Cindy's daughter, Casey, is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter, Caylee. Prosecutors today turned over nearly 130 pages of new evidence to Casey's defense team, Kealing reported.

Anthony wanted to watch the news, a corrections sergeant said in an April deposition. WESH-Channel 2's Bob Kealing reported the deposition details this evening.

The officer, Billy Richardson, had escorted Anthony to a nurse's station on Dec. 11. On that day, a child's remains were found -- they were later identified as Caylee. Anthony is charged with the first-degree murder of her daughter.

Anthony's defense team is trying to block the release of a jail video of her reaction on Dec. 11.

In his deposition, Sgt. Richardson said Anthony was listening to a radio in her cell on Dec. 11 and wanted to know more about what was happening. Her reaction to learning more from television? She became sick to her stomach and felt like throwing up, Richardson said.
