An Elkhart family is asking for your help in locating a missing teen. 15 year old Marissa Liggett hasn't been seen since she left Elkhart Memorial High School Monday. She's described as five-foot-five and weighs about 126 pounds with light brown hair and green eyes. Elkhart Police have not issued an Amber Alert, but her family doesn't believe she had any reason to runaway. If you have any information on Marissa's whereabouts, call Elkhart Police at 295-7070.

The family of 15-year-old Marissa Liggett is seeking the public’s
help in finding the missing girl, an Elkhart Memorial sophomore last
seen Monday.

Marissa’s
mother Tracy Wesaw said the girl made it to class Monday morning but
never returned home. Wesaw said Elkhart Memorial officials are going to
check videotape to see if Marissa got on the bus that afternoon.
Wesaw filed a runaway report with police on Monday evening.
Marissa
is 5 feet 5 inches tall and weighs 125 pounds, with light brown hair
and greenish-brown eyes. She was last seen wearing a blue sweat shirt,
blue jeans, black shoes and black and pink FUBU tennis shoes.
Wesaw said her daughter has never run away.

Saturday Elkhart residents gathered to pray for a missing girl.
15-year-old Marissa Liggett has been missing since Monday.
Friends and family held a candle light vigil outside the Elkhart police department.
Some members of her tribe -- the Pokagon Band -- also came out to say a special prayer and chant around a sacred drum.
Elkhart Police weren't in attendance, but Tribal Police were.
Marissa's mother Tracy says all she wants is her little girl to come home safe.
"I want her to come home, I don't know who has her, or where she's at, but
I just want her to come back home, that's all," explains Tracy.
Wesaw says she received a text message from her daughter Tuesday saying she was in Chicago, but doesn't believe it was really her.
City police are treating the case as a runway, they haven't issued an amber aler

Liggett hasn’t been seen in days. Saturday night, family and friends of
the missing 15-year-old Elkhart girl gathered for a candlelight prayer
vigil across the street from the Elkhart Police Department.
Her family said they last saw her as she left on Monday to go to classes at Elkhart Memorial High School.
Tracy
Wesaw, Marissa’s mother, filed a runaway report with Elkhart Police on
Monday night, but said her daughter has never run away. The teen is
severely anemic and needs medication, Wesaw said.
“I want her to come home,” Wesaw said. “I don’t know who has her or where she’s at. But, I just want her to come back home.”

A missing Elkhart teen is back home and safe tonight. But police are still looking for answers into her week-long disappearance. 15 year old Marissa Liggett was last seen at Memorial High School last Monday. This morning, Elkhart police went to her home after hearing that she had been found... Liggett's mother confirmed that but wouldn't allow her daughter to talk to police. Lt. Ed Windbigler of the Elkhart Police Department says, "Investigators said she wasn't cooperative as far as saying where she'd been or what had been going on, so we don't have any other information other than saying she had been missing all this time." Windbigler says the family hasn't felt they received any cooperation from police because the family initially felt there was foul play. Windbigler says they didn't have the evidence to treat it that way and pursued the case as a runaway. They still need to talk to the family to close the case but are asking anyone with more information to give them a call.
