The story about Jaycee Lee Dugard, who
showed up at a California police station Wednesday after she was
kidnapped 18 years ago, made me think of another local missing child
case.
Like Jaycee, Arlin Henderson has blond hair and an engaging smile.
Like Jaycee, Arlin was 11 when he didn’t return from a bike ride near
his Moscow Mills home on July 25, 1991.
Arlin’s family has continued to host fundraisers to pay for fliers
and keep a web site going. Last month they held a a barbecue lunch and
helium balloon launch in Lincoln County to mark the 18th anniversary of
his abduction.
I called Rev. Jim McWilliams, Arlin’s uncle, today to ask him how he was feeling.ARLIN HENDERSON - 11 yo (1991) - Moscow Mills MO Sc_hendersonage_progression-239x300

He said he and his wife has watched the TV coverage of Jaycee’s story last night with tears in their eyes.
“It rekindles hope for Arlin,” he said. “It says that we cannot ever, ever, ever give up.”
He said that someone in his family is always going to be looking for Arlin.
I’ve included an age-progression photo of Arlin to give you an idea what he would look like today at age 29.
Anyone with information about Arlin can contact McWilliams at
314-807-2100 or the Lincoln County Sheriff’s Department at 636-528-8546.

Family of missing boy pushes to keep case in the spotlight

Updated today at 7:00 PM

Nineteen years ago, 11-year-old Arlin Henderson left his home to go for a bike ride. His mom, Debbie, was cooking dinner. Arlin asked his mom to save him some Polish sausage for dinner. Those were the last words Debbie heard from her son.

The case has never been solved.

In March, the FBI called a press conference and allowed journalists to take pictures of Arlin's bike in hopes that it would jog the memory of someone in the public. The bike was found two months after Arlin's disappearance. It was a key piece of evidence. Since the case has gone cold, authorities were trying anything to generate new tips and leads.

While the FBI did get phone calls from people hoping to help, none of the new tips panned out. Still, Arlin's family continues to push for answers. That means keeping Arlin's story out in the public.

This weekend, Arlin's face will be plastered on Kevin Conway's EntenZe Toyota during the NASCAR Sprint Cup serious at the Kansas Raceway. The new national attention is the result of efforts by Rev. James McWilliams, Arlin's uncle, who began working with the pickup truck series of the race. He credits Sean Hornbeck's parents with helping his family reach out to organizations that would help generate publicity for Arlin's case.

Sean Hornbeck was found alive in 2007. He was kidnapped in 2002.

"Look at the blessings we've had with the Hornbecks, and Ownby, and Dugard. I mean, when you have that happen we can't give up on Arlin," said McWilliams.

The hope keeps Arlin's family working for new leads. McWilliams says Arlin's mother was recently diagnosed with breast cancer and her only wish is to live to see a resolution in her son's case.

An updated aged to what he may look like now would have been useful!

It's been 20 years since Arlin Henderson vanished
from Moscow Mills. His disappearance is part of a mystery his family
hopes to solve.
Eleven-year-old Henderson disappeared on July 25th, 1991 after going for a bike ride near his home.

Saturday the owner of Ken's Tattoos and Body Piercing donated his services and staff to help Henderson's family.
For $30 dollars, anyone could get a "Forget Me Not" tattoo in honor
of Henderson. All tattoo proceeds go to a group that hosts a website and
post flyers about Arlin.
"Everybody has come here today so far to get their forget me not
flower or not forgotten and it means a lot and this child is never gonna
be forgotten," said Henderson's uncle, Jim McWilliams.
The tattoo shop is located at 1098 Crosswinds Court in Wentzville. A
$10,000 reward is offered for information leading to an arrest and
conviction in the missing person's case.
