"Jane" WHARWOOD - 10 yo - Danville IL

A mother was charged in Vermilion County Circuit Court on
Thursday after her daughter was found naked several blocks from the
family home.

Police received a call at 7:45 p.m. Monday of the
10-year-old girl riding a bicycle down the street in the 1000 block of
North Vermilion Street. According to a department press release, the
girl told officers she had an argument with her mother.

The girl
was taken to Provena United Samaritans Medical Center where she was
treated and released. She was then put in protective custody of the
Illinois Department of Children and Family Services.

Deanna
Wharwood, 44, of the 1300 block of Oak Street, was arrested by police
at her home. She was arraigned Thursday afternoon on a charge of
aggravated battery of a child and two misdemeanor counts of domestic
battery.
