DAKOTA DAVIS - 14 yo w/ Asperger's - Oregon City OR

On Wednesday, September 30, at about 3:00 p.m., Dakota Davis, 14,
was dropped off at the Oregon City Library by his adoptive mother to
see a movie at the Oregon City movie theatre. The family is from Canby.
He did not show up when they returned to pick him up. He suffers
from Aspergers Syndrome, a form of autism, and severe depression.

Dakota does not have friends in the area and his family has no idea
where he would/could have gone. An extensive search of the area through
the night by patrol officers has been done but he has yet to be found.
Dakota is a white male, 6 feet 1 inch tall, weighs about 200 pounds
and was wearing a brown hooded sweathsirt, plaid shorts, and a blue
shirt.
He has been entered into law enforcement computer systems as a missing/endangered child.

Oregon City Police have issued a press release saying Dakota Davis has been found.
No details concerning where he was or what condition he was in have been released.

The 14-year-old boy who went missing Wednesday afternoon apparently
spent the night at Clackamette Park before he was found today, police
said.

Lt. Lisa Nunes, Oregon City police spokeswoman, said
Dakota Davis, who suffers from severe depression and has Asperger's
syndrome, was recovered in good health after he called his mother this
morning.

Nunes said Dakota's mother was unable to find him
Wednesday afternoon because he took a bus instead of waiting, after she
had dropped him off to see a movie.

"Then, he got confused and got lost," Nunes said. "He apparently rode around for a quite a while."

Dakota
called his mother around midnight, but failed to connect. When she
tried to call him back, his cell phone already had gone dead.

Nunes said Dakota walked to the nearby McDonald's restaurant this morning and charged his phone. He then called his mother.

"Luckily, he's fine," Nunes said. "Everything turned out OK."
