Albany Police is looking for a missing 3-year-old child and her grandmother.



Officials say Tamira Collins has been missing since yesterday.
Her grandmother was supposed to pick her up at school
Friday afternoon
and return her home but never showed up.
Tamira Collins is about two feet tall and weighs 60 pounds.
Her grandmother, 51-year-old Marie Harper Wright is about 5'5 and 140 pounds.
Wright was supposed to pick up Collins from Head Start Child Development center yesterday at three o'clock.
The mother had not seen or heard from either of the two. She called police around 11:30 last night.
Wright was driving a white Pontiac Grand Am which belongs to the child's mother, Lashonna Lawson.

Albany Police say they have located missing 3-year-old Tamira
Collins who went missing Friday along with her grandmother, 51-year-old
Marie Harper Wright.
Police spotted a car around 10 p.m. Saturday matching the description of one driven by Wright on Highland Avenue.
Police have not released details at this time, but are investigating.
It's been a whirlwind for the family of Tamira Collins and her
grandmother. Police say they went missing around 3:00 Friday afternoon
after Collins' Grandma picked her up from Tift Avenue Head Start.

Three year old Tamira Collins was safe and sound on Highland Avenue, but her
grandmother, Marie Harper Wright, still hasn't been located.
Wright is 51-years-old is about 5'5 and 140 pounds.
Wright was supposed to pick Tamira up at school Friday afternoon and return her home, but never showed up.

Albany Police Department spokeswoman Phyllis Whitley-Banks reports
that 51-year-old Marie Harper Wright, who was the subject of a lookout
for several days, has been located, and is safe.

Wright, and her three-year-old grand daughter Tamira Collins were
reported missing Friday, but the child was returned to her mother on
Saturday.
Wright was supposed to pick Tamira up at school Friday afternoon and return her home.
Whitley-Banks says that Wright called family members to tell them
where to get the Pontiac automobile that she had been driving, and
chose not to return home.
Whitley-Banks says that Wright has not told APD where she was or
what she was doing during the period that she was listed as a missing
person.
