Mother Accused of Murdering Newborn Child

Orlando FL---- A mother is facing charges
for murdering her newborn child.Police first responded to a home
at the Madison Condos off Metrowest Boulevard on May 18 for a wellness
check. At the time, police would only say it was a death investigation.But
on Wednesday, police revealed that the death involved an infant.
Officers say they had to break into the home. Once inside, they found a
newborn in a bathtub. No one else was in the home.Police say
LeShawna Issac drowned her child. They had been looking for Issac since
they found the child. She finally turned herself in on May 28.Police
are still trying to figure out why Issac killed her child.

Mom Accused Of Killing Baby Wants Trial Moved

ORANGE COUNTY, Fla. -- A mother accused of killing her newborn wanted her trial moved out of Orange County because of the Casey Anthony case.

Attorneys representing Leshawna Issac were in court Monday to ask for a change of venue.

They were concerned that potential jurors may be biased against mothers on trial accused of killing their kids.

But a judge decided to move forward with plans to pick a jury in Orange County.

Police said Issac drowned her newborn in her apartment bathtub in May of 2010 and then took off. She eventually turned herself in.

Issac is charged with aggravated manslaughter of a child.
