An Evansville mother is arrested for child neglect after her daughter calls 911 for help.
Police say the child called from a gas station near her home in the 1100 block of Washington Avenue.
Police say the girl had a welt on her face.
She told officers her mother, Debbie
Jennings, was upset with her and her siblings for missing curfew, and
beat them with a belt, cords, and sticks.
Police went to the home and say Jennings told
them she was disciplining her three children for disobeying, and
admitted to hitting them with a belt.
Police say another child had welts and several bleeding wounds on her arm.
The father of one of the children took custody of his child. The two others were taken by child protective services.
Police say one of the children told officers, "Thank you so much. This has been going on for a long time now."
Jennings was taken to the Vanderburgh County Jail.
