Little Girl Found with Burns to Feet, Aunt Arrested
Sarah Hilton is accused of abusing her 3-year-old niece.
SIMI VALLEY -- A Simi Valley woman is under arrest on suspicion of abusing her 3-year-old girl niece, who authorities found with multiple injuries, including burns to her feet.
Sarah Hilton, 29, faces one count of felony child abuse and one count of felony corporal injury to a child.
On September 21, Simi Valley Police and Ventura County Children and Family Services launched a joint investigation into the alleged abuse of Hilton's 3-year-old niece. Hilton is the girl's legal guardian.
The child was taken into protective custody after authorities found she had a fractured arm, burned feet and puncture wounds to both nostrils.
Investigators served a search warrant at Hilton's home and conducted several interviews in connection with the case.
Authorities found Hilton Saturday in Goleta, and arrested her. She was taken to Ventura County Main Jail and booked on the abuse charges.
Her bail is set at $250,000, and her next court appearance is scheduled for September 28.
