An 18-year-old pregnant woman was missing Friday – the day family members say she was due to deliver her baby.
Karen Denys Lara was last seen Thursday afternoon in the 5200 block of Willow Glen.
She left home saying she was going to walk to the store.


Family members said she hasn’t answered her cell phone since, and she has not been found at any local hospitals.

HOUSTON – A pregnant teenager came forward Friday after relatives reported her missing.

Karen Lara, 17, told her family she was going to the store Thursday
afternoon and didn’t return home or answer her cell phone, her family
said.

Her family members were worried and called police and contacted KHOU.
Lara finally came forward when she saw her picture appear on our
station.

It turns out she was at a friend’s house.

She was taken to the hospital Friday night and was about to give birth, her family said.
