Police: Missing teen may have run away with boy she met online
PAXTON -- Police in this Ford County town are asking for the
public's help in finding a missing teen they believe ran away with
a West Virginia boy whom she met on the Internet.
Mikaela J. Hileman, 16, of Paxton, was last seen about 8 a.m.
Monday, driving in a blue car with West Virginia plates, said Paxton Police Chief Bob Bane.
Sitting in the passenger seat of that car was a boy believed to be James P. Horner, 17, of Wellsburg, W.Va.
The two teens had met some time ago on the Internet. They had
been using Facebook and Skype to build their relationship. But
authorities say Monday was the first time the pair had met face-to-face.
West Virginia authorities told Bane that Horner left his home
about midnight Sunday, driving to Paxton.
Hileman had left for school as is routine, driving a family car.
But she left it at a city park, where a witness saw her leave in
the blue four-door Chrysler with the boy, said Bane.
The West Virginia license plate number is 4N3417.
"We're concerned for these kids' safety," he said.
He said the FBI and the National Center for Missing and
Exploited Children are assisting Paxton.
Hileman has blonde hair and green eyes, and she wears black
glasses. She is 5 foot 9, weighing about 160 pounds.
Turner has brown hair and blue eyes. He is 6-foot-2, weighing
about 220 pounds.
Anyone with information should call the Paxton Police Department
at 217-379-4315, or any other Central Illinois police
department.

Runaway Found Safe
An update on a missing Paxton teen found safe in Ohio this morning. Highway Patrol Officers found 16-year old Mikaela Hileman at a rest stop in West Jefferson, Ohio. Paxton police received the call about 4:30 am.
Mikaela and 17-year old James Horner were found sleeping in a car. Police say it appears they ran out of gas. They were about 3-1/2 hours away from West Virginia. That's where Horner is from.
Parents of both teens are now on their way to Ohio to meet their children. No charges will be filed. The pair disappeared from Paxton Monday.

A missing Paxton teen and her companion were found
safe early this morning in Ohio.
Authorities had been looking for 16-year-old Mikaela Hileman
since she left Paxton secretly Monday morning with a West Virginia
boy whom she'd met on the Internet.
"They have been located. At 4:26 this morning, Ohio State Police
found them at a rest stop near West Jefferson, Ohio," said Paxton Police Chief Bob Bane.
Hileman's parents left to meet their daughter as soon as they
got word, he said. The couple is expected to arrive in West
Jefferson about 10 a.m., he said. Also en route, making the 3
1/2-hour drive from Wellsbury, W.Va ., are the parents of the other teen, James Horner, 17.
Bane said the Ohio trooper noticed the car wasn't running, but
that people were sleeping in the vehicle. Given it was 18 degrees
and snowing heavily, that caught the trooper's interest, said the Paxton chief.
He said Ohio reported the pair was cooperative with police.
