Police are looking for leads in the case of a
13-year-old girl who has been missing from her Prince George's County
home for nearly a month and a half. No one has heard from Diamond Scott
since Jan. 12, when she was seen shortly before noon at her home on the 17000 block of Livingston Road in Accokeek, according to Prince George's County police. She has not attended school or been in contact with her family in the weeks since then, police said. "We're
still looking for some kind of lead," Cpl. Clinton Copeland, a Prince
George's County police spokesman, said Tuesday. "That's what we're
waiting on." Copeland said officers
don't have solid information about where Diamond went, why she left or
whom she may be with. Police are not aware of any dispute or argument
that would have spurred Diamond to leave her home, he said. Diamond is described as black, about 5 feet 5 inches tall and 125 pounds. She has brown eyes and black hair. She
was last seen wearing a black coat, bluejeans, a purple scarf, and
black and gray tennis shoes, according to police. She was carrying a
purple backpack at the time. Authorities
are asking people who think they might have seen Diamond or know where
she could be staying to call police. Anyone with information about her
disappearance is asked to call the Prince George's County Police
District IV investigative section at 301-749-5064.
