North Vancouver RCMP are asking for public assistance in locating Ying Ying (Mizuki) Sun, a fifteen year old girl who left her home sometime last night.

Mizuki is a fifteen year old girl of Chinese descent, with long black hair and brown eyes. Her parents do not know what she was wearing when she left.

Mizuki left a note for her parents expressing emotional distress about relationships. Police have also learned that Mizuki recently befriended a male of unknown age through the internet. Police have not yet made any connection between her leaving and this relationship, but are concerned for her wellbeing because she is only fifteen.

Mizuki is a Handsworth Secondary High School student in North Vancouver, and it is uncharacteristic for her to leave in this way. She has no known medical conditions, and all attempts to locate her through friends and known associates have thus far proven unsuccessful.

Police are asking the public to be on the lookout for Mizuki, and to call police immediately on 911 if she is spotted.

Tech crime investigators assigned to missing teen case

snipped.....Police are not sure if there is a connection between the male and her disappearance, but DeVries told The Outlook that tech crime investigators have seized the 15-year-old's laptop in an effort to determine if it contains any clues that would point to her whereabouts.

UPDATE: April 23, 2011

Mizuki Sun has been found safe and sound in a neighbouring Municipality.

After making contact with officers from the North Vancouver RCMP, she met with investigators this morning. RCMP are in the process of returning her to her home and parents.

Police and her family wish to thank everyone for their concern and for watching out for Mizuki.
