Orangeville girl missing
The parents of a missing Orangeville girl are pleading for the public’s help in finding their daughter.
Seventeen-year-old Rebecca Diane Gyorffy hasn’t been seen since yesterday afternoon (Dec. 27).
“We’re really worried about her. There’s no reason she shouldn’t have come home last night. She was fine when she left,” her father, Bill Gyorffy, told The Banner. “Something is just not right.”
Rebecca left her Second Street home at about 2 p.m. and was expected back by 9 p.m. When she hadn’t returned by 10:30, her mother contacted the friend Rebecca planned to meet for coffee and learned her daughter failed to show up.
“That’s when we called the police,” Bill said, noting his daughter is typically home by 8:30 p.m. “We want
someone to get hold of the police as soon as someone sees her or hears from her.
At the time she left, Rebecca was wearing a grey winter jacket with a hood and carrying a black purse. She is described as 5’4” tall, shoulder-length black hair, with hoop rings in both nostrils and weighing about 100 lbs.
Anyone with information about Rebecca’s whereabouts is asked to call Orangeville Police Service at 519-941-2522 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-222-8477.
