ADRIAN GARCIA - 3 yo (2011) - Las Vegas NV
Las Vegas police are investigating the
suspicious death of a 3-year-old boy. Police say the boy's mother left
him and her five other kids under the care of her boyfriend Saturday
night. Hours later, the boy was rushed to the hospital.
He died Monday morning after emergency surgery failed to stop bleeding in his brain.
The boyfriend, 34-year-old Ramiro Camacho, Jr.,
is now charged with several counts of child abuse and neglect. He is now
in police custody.
On Saturday night, Camacho was watching six kids
while their mother was away at work.
He told police 3-year-old Adrian
Garcia went upstairs to shower. About 20-minutes later, an older brother
found him face down in the bathtub. Camacho tried CPR and then ran next
door for help.
"He said we got to go to the hospital fast
because Adrian is not breathing. I was shaking inside because I knew
when somebody's not breathing, that's not a good thing, and I took them
to the hospital in my car. I'm shaking right now just talking about it,"
said neighbor Tracy Enriquez.
Enriquez says Garcia was unresponsive and was
limp. She drove the boy and Camacho to St. Rose Hospital. She said she
wondered why Camacho never called 911.
Adrian suffered a brain injury and a second degree burn to his face.
Originally, Camacho told police the boy ate bad
tacos that caused him to throw up. But after further questioning, the
police report says he changed his story, saying bruises on Garcia were
caused by a brother and that his brain injury was the result of being
hit in the head by a plastic chair.
"He was a very sweet little boy -- a good little
boy -- always quiet, played with everybody. He was here on Saturday
playing and now he's gone. Its just hard to grasp that concept," said
neighbor Al Rueda.
Neighbors say Camacho basically kept to himself
and other than witnessing him yell at the kids a couple times, it didn't
seem like they were in any sort of danger.
Camacho he was arrested for armed robbery with a
deadly weapon in 2000 and has spent some time in jail. He is now
charged with two counts of child abuse with substantial bodily harm, one
count of child abuse and one count of child neglect also with
substantial bodily harm.
Garcia's aunt she says his mother, Monique
Rivera, is obviously devastated. She and the other children are staying
with family. Funeral arrangements are still pending.

Who would expect their boyfriend to look after your six children? She had enough children after two IMO. I'm so sick of reading about these cases with the same scenario Tom.TomTerrific0420 wrote:Rhetorical question: Who lets a toddler shower without supervision?

These are actual living, breathing human beings. Albeit defenseless and in most cases clueless as to maturity.
They need our nurturing, education and protection...not violence and derision.

Adrian Garcia
I was at the funeral of Adrian this past weekend it and it is very sad the tension that was there. My husband is related to the father of this child. But like the judge said the mother had 2 opportunitys to save this child and his sibblings and she fail as a mother. I know there is nothing to do but to make this guy pay for what he did and make sure he doesnt hurt any other kid. But I also feel that the mother should be in Jail for neglect. He not only hurt those kids physcically but also emotionally. I know the father has some fault for not being there physically but the mother carry these kids for 9 months.

I agree, the mother should be in jail. She is a POS mother to bring a man like this into her children's lives. She had to know he was abusive. Maybe she was as well. It is certainly abuse to allow a man to harm her children.
I hope the father did not know of the abuse. I hope he would have put a stop to it had he known.
Another POS mother. Another POS boyfriend. She needs to be in jail also. JMO.

Las Vegas man now faces murder count in child’s death
By Paul Takahashi (contact)

A Las Vegas man charged earlier this week with child abuse in the death of his girlfriend’s 3-year-old son now faces a count of murder, Metro Police said Friday.
Ramiro Camacho, 34, was charged on Wednesday with two counts of child abuse with substantial bodily harm and one count of child neglect related to the death of Adrian Garcia.
Following additional investigation, Camacho was re-booked Friday on a count of first-degree murder, four counts of emotional abuse and intimidating a witness, child abuse, and battery, domestic violence by strangulation, police said.
According to an arrest report, Camacho was caring for six children while his girlfriend, Monique Rivera, was at work Sunday evening.
Garcia suffered severe head trauma and had second-degree burns and bruises on his face when he was brought into Sunrise Hospital and Medical Center unconscious and unresponsive on May 7, according to the report. The Clark County Coroner’s Office hasn’t yet ruled on the cause and manner of death.
During the course of the investigation, police determined that Garcia’s five siblings — ages 12, 10, 8, 6 years, and 8 months — also suffered abuse while in Camacho’s care, police said. Camacho not only abused the children, but forced them to engage in abusive acts against each other, police allege.
Metro has yet to determine if criminal charges will be filed against the siblings, police said. Child Protective Services took custody of the siblings, according to the arrest report.
Camacho originally was booked into the Clark County Detention Center on Sunday, where he was held on $30,000 bail, according to jail records.

Ramiro Camacho, Jr v. Clark County Detention Center
UNITED STATES DISTRICT COURT DISTRICT OF NEVADA
May 8, 2013
RAMIRO CAMACHO, JR.,
PLAINTIFF,
v.
CLARK COUNTY DETENTION CENTER, ET AL.,
DEFENDANTS.
The opinion of the court was delivered by: Miranda M. Duunited States District Judge
ORDER
Plaintiff, Ramiro Camacho, Jr., has submitted a motion for a temporary restraining order (dkt. no. 2). A court may issue a temporary restraining order when the moving party provides specific facts showing that immediate and irreparable injury, loss, or damage will result before the adverse party's opposition to a motion for preliminary injunction can be heard. Fed. R. Civ. P. 65. Plaintiff is a pre-trial detainee at the Clark County Detention Center. Plaintiff is afraid that Hispanic correctional officers at the jail are trying to kill him in retaliation for the death of his son. Plaintiff points to an incident on December 19, 2012, in which Hispanic correctional officers used force to extract him from his cell, and an undated incident in state district court in which a Hispanic marshal choked him. Plaintiff asks the Court to move him into federal custody. Plaintiff has not alleged facts that could show an immediate and irreparable injury will occur. At best, he has alleged fear and speculation of injury based upon a bad experience several months ago. The Court finds that extraordinary relief is not warranted.
Plaintiff also has submitted a civil rights complaint pursuant to 42 U.S.C. § 1983 (dkt. no. 1). The court dismisses this action because plaintiff did not pay the filing fee, nor did he submit an application to proceed in forma pauperis with a financial certificate and a copy of his inmate account statement, as required by 28 U.S.C. § 1915(a)(2) and Local Rule LSR 1-2.
The Court denies plaintiff's motion for a preliminary injunction (dkt. no. 3), motion for free copies (dkt. no. 4), and motion for appointment of counsel (dkt. no. 5) because the Court is dismissing this action.
IT IS THEREFORE ORDERED that plaintiff's motion for a temporary restraining order (dkt. no. 2), motion for a preliminary injunction (dkt. no. 3), motion for free copies (dkt. no. 4), and motion for appointment of counsel (dkt. no. 5) are DENIED.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that the Clerk of the Court shall send plaintiff a blank form for an application to proceed in forma pauperis for incarcerated litigants and a blank civil rights complaint form with instructions.
IT IS FURTHER ORDERED that this action is DISMISSED without prejudice to plaintiff's commencement of a new action in which he either pays the filing fee in full or submits a complete application to proceed in forma pauperis, accompanied by a signed financial certificate and a statement of his inmate account. The Clerk of the Court shall enter judgment accordingly.
