CLEARWATER — Jury selection continued Friday afternoon in the fifth day of Casey Anthony's first-degree murder trial.
A new prospective juror was brought in after lunch for questioning by attorneys and Orange-Osceola Chief Judge Belvin Perry. The man, probably in his 30s, said he heard news reports on the case and has developed an opinion.
"My impression is … I thought she did it. That's all I can say," he said. The man also said he doesn't believe in the death penalty.
Earlier in the day, Anthony's defense team exercised its first "peremptory strike" to release potential Juror 1011 for lying about his previous DUI conviction during the jury selection process.
"This juror was less than candid," attorney Jose Baez said. "There is reasonable doubt he will be able to uphold his oath."
