NCSO investigators searching for missing 14-year-old Cousins student

locating a missing 14-year-old Cousins Middle School student.

Sheriff’s Office investigators are asking for the public’s help in
locating a missing 14-year-old Cousins Middle School student.

Emily Miller of 75 N. Wood Oak Drive, Oxford, is
believed to have slipped out of her home sometime between midnight and 1
a.m. Sunday. She was discovered missing around 7 a.m.
According to NCSO spokesman Lt.
Tyrone Oliver, it is unknown whether Miller left alone or in the company
of another person. Other residents at her home said they heard the
neighbor’s dog barking after midnight and believe that may have been
when the teen left, Oliver said.

Miller suffers from autism, AD/HD and has been diagnosed as bipolar.
“She has none of her medication with her. Her family believes if she stops
taking it suddenly, she could have severe issues,” Oliver said.

He said investigators are currently looking into the
possibility that Miller has been accessing social networking sites on
her computer which could have brought her into contact with someone
unknown to the family.

“She had her IPod Touch with her, but it has not been
activated since she left,” Oliver said, adding that she has no history
of running away.

may have seen her since the early morning hours Sunday should call

NEWTON COUNTY, Ga. -- A special-needs
teen reported missing Saturday returned home early Monday, but the case
is not closed yet. Authorities are working to find an online friend the
Covington teen left home to meet.Family members said Emily
Miller, 14, disappeared from her home late Saturday. Her aunt, Amy
Norton, described her as having the mental capacity of an 8-year-old
with the body of a 20-year-old, susceptible to being taken advantage of.“There are so many child predators out there,” Norton told Channel 2’s George Howell.
She said Miller may have been lured away from her home by a
stranger she had been chatting with on Skype. Newton County Sheriff’s
investigators later confirmed her suspicions.“She met this person
online, whom she doesn’t know, so there is a very strong chance she
could have been harmed. We’re glad she’s back home safe,” Sheriff’s Lt.
Tyrone Oliver said.Investigators said Miller was dropped off at
her home around 12:30 a.m. Monday. After interviewing her, they said she
willingly met up with the stranger, but it is unclear where they went.Deputies
were working to identify the person Miller was with. Although she left
voluntarily, authorities are seeking to charge the stranger because she
is underage.
