Caylee Anthony case: Magpie reports on trial 05/24/11

Long day but eventful and such a worthwhile day. I’m going to just write it as I saw it today. Hope it makes sense cause I’m exhausted.

So, apparently even with the courts admonishment to not come earlier than 5:30 there were a sprinkle of people in line at 4:00. I was #10 in line at about 5:20. By 5:45 the margin of 50 was met. Deputies arrived around 6:30 and began turning away additional people wanting a ‘golden’ ticket to the trial.

Believe it or not there was a woman in front of me that talked of her interest in the
trial because of her own young children as she drank (alcohol) out of a water
bottle until she began slurring her words by 6:30 or so. A reporter from the
local news that was interviewing the people in line noticed she seemed drunk and
informed a deputy who pulled her out of line. After about a 20 minute
discussion they decided to let her leave. Well…she came back about an hour
later and popped right back in line where she was promptly noticed and asked
again to leave. I’m surprised they didn’t get her for DUI. But…that was the
start to what we all knew was going to be an eventful day.
