KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- Kansas City, Mo.,
police said a standoff involving a man who allegedly stabbed his
girlfriend in the neck and kidnapped their baby boy has ended.Police
were called to 3635 Sunrise Drive at 2:14 a.m. Police said when they
got there, they found a woman with a severe knife wound to the neck.
She told police she was attacked by her boyfriend, Eric Yeager, 24.
The woman also told police that Yeager took their 4-month-old son after attacking her.
Police said Yeager took the child to his aunt's home in the 5000 block
of North Crystal Avenue. The aunt said all she knew was that Yeager had
been in an argument with his girlfriend."He was crying and he was upset," she said. She
said when she turned on the news and saw the report about the
kidnapping, she took the child to safety while Yeager barricaded himself
in her house.“When they found him I was so relieved because that
was the most important thing on my mind," the boy's uncle, Anthony
Michael Glorioso, told KMBC's Brenda Washington.
Neighbor Brigitte Hofmann said she saw the commotion at the house and started taking pictures."(Police)
told me to get back in my house and stay away from the window, but I
couldn't resist and started photographing," she said. One of the
pictures she took was a shot of Yeager coming out of the house with a BB
gun and firing shots. She said that police didn't fire back, but lobbed
more tear gas into the house.Moments later, officers went into
the house and brought Yeager out without incident. Police said he
suffered an injury while trying to harm himself, but that it wasn't
serious. The stabbing victim has been taken to a hospital. Glorioso said she is in critical condition.
