Forty three year old Daniel R. Fischer, of
rural Hershey, was arrested by Lincoln County Sheriff's Investigators on
April 1, 2011 for 9 counts of 1^st Degree Sexual Assault on a Child.
Investigators have now interviewed three victims, have additional people
to interview and expect more victims before the investigation is complete. All known victims are
female and range from the ages of 7 to 15 years old.

Daniel Fischer is a farmer and a Sunday School teacher for a Sutherland church. He was
released on bond when 10% of $500,000.00 was posted April 4^th.

The body of a western Nebraska Sunday School teacher who was charged
with multiple counts of child sexual assault has been found in an
irrigation ditch.
The body of 43-year-old Daniel Fischer of Hershey was found Sunday by
family members, according to KNOP-TV in North Platte. The cause of
death has not been determined and is under investigation.
Fischer was charged earlier this month with multiple counts of
sexually assaulting female children while his wife, 38-year-old Deanna
Fischer, photographed the alleged assaults. Deanna’s arraignment is
still set for April 24th.
Daniel was released on bond in early April, but when officers went to
arrest him last week on another charge, they couldn’t find him. Lincoln
County Sheriff Jerome Kramer told KNOP-TV that Fischer’s death most
likely occurred the same day the warrant was issued.
Daniel and Deanna Fischer are tied to a Sutherland Sunday School
where Daniel was a teacher. Documents filed by Lincoln County law
enforcement say five girls between the ages of 7 and 15 reported being
assaulted by Fischer at his home.

The body of a Hershey man with a warrant out for his arrest on charges
of sexual assault of a child was discovered Sunday afternoon, according
to Lincoln County Sheriff Jerome Kramer.
“They found him a short distance from where he left his pickup, in an
irrigation canal,” Kramer said. “They drained that canal because they
suspected he might be in there, and he was.”
Kramer
said the cause of death appeared to be self-inflicted injury. County
Attorney Rebecca Harling said the case has been officially ruled a
suicide.
Fischer was arrested on April 1 and charged
with nine counts of sexual assault of a child. He bonded out April 4.
LCSO deputies went to arrest Fischer on additional counts of the same
crime on April 13, the same day his wife Deanna was arrested on charges
of cruelty to a child. Fischer could not be located.
A warrant was issued for his arrest.
“We
searched for him actively that first day to serve the warrant,” Kramer
said. “However we weren’t involved after that. It was just his family.”
Fischer’s sister, Julia Musser, urged the public to show restraint in this matter.
“There’s nothing that can make this situation better, but some of the things that are said make it worse,” she said.

He had faced several counts of sexual assault of children.According
to court documents, five girls ages 7 to 15 reported being assaulted by
Daniel Fischer at the couple's home in Hershey. Authorities say Deanna
Fischer photographed some of the assaults and did nothing to stop them.
